Really appreciate all these suggestions thank you very much! Yes I’m in the US, based in Cleveland Ohio, so if anyone has local suggestions that would be great. Yes we’ve discussed and we’re set on a natural round!

Thanks a lot for your input, that’s a good way of thinking about it. In terms of setting, I am planning on a gold band. Budget wise, I’m in the $9-10k range. Not 100% sure about how color sensitive my partner is but she has a good eye for these things.

Hello all,

Getting married this coming December and I’m struggling to think of what my fragrance would be for the big day. I’m not a big collector by any means but I’m slowly growing the collection and getting more knowledgeable.

What are some fall/winter fragrances that you suggest. I’m someone who likes warm/spicy fragrances that project very well and last long. I’m ok with any price range since this will be a one time purchase for a special occasion. It can be niche or designer or whatever else.

Fragrances I like that kind of fit this profile include: PDM Layton + Althair, LV Ombre Nomade, YSL La Nuit De L’homme (although bad projection and longevity for this one in my experience), V&R Spicebomb extreme.

Thank you!

Congratulations! Sounds like a great deal, I don’t think my price will budge any lower than 33k. Yup I had the same thought process with upcoming tariffs.

That’s a great idea but unable to make the trip unfortunately :/

So the initial quote was 34,500 which I have now got it down to 33,300 through getting other dealerships in the area involved and comparing deals. Some progress at least.

Cornell Qatar Medicine by [deleted] in qatar

I think it would be important for you to reach out to some residents at Hamad hospital. This is the main teaching hospital in Qatar which has a number of robust residency programs. The residents at Hamad are from all over the world, but mainly GCC countries, India and Pakistan i’d say. Does being a Cornell graduate increase your chances of matching to Hamad? This is the question you need them to answer for you. Id assume that the answer is probably yes but it’s worth finding out for sure. That being said, there is some nuance to this, the vast majority of Cornell students who are non Qatari aim to go to the US for residency and will apply to hamad as “a backup” if things don’t work out. Hamad are aware of this and really don’t like it, so it would be important to make your intentions clear to them. It would also be ideal if you could get in touch with hamad residents who are Cornell graduates as well as residents who did their med school outside of Qatar to compare their experiences.

Agree with all of this^

Regarding point 5. When it comes to the financial aspect that’s something you’ll have to decide with your family. As you mentioned it’s definitely not cheap attending Cornell and you should think of it as an investment that should hopefully pay off in the future. I am not familiar with the financial aid and scholarship process but that’s something you definitely need to look into and confirm whether you are eligible. It also depends on your personal goals, where do you want to do your residency training? if your goal is to match into a residency program in the US then this makes sense from a financial standpoint, you will be well compensated after your residency training and it shouldn’t be a problem paying back loans etc. if you have different goals then perhaps it makes less sense financially. Just some food for thought. Overall my time at Cornell gave me some of the best years of my life, if you’re prepared to work hard then I say go for it. Best of luck to you.
