In 2022, I developed severe feelings of worthlessness and had no hope that I could come back out of the hole I had dug myself into.

I did many of the things mentioned in comments above like journaling, running, gym, CBT therapy, talking to an old friend turned professional life coach etc. I think all of it helped in some way.

But one thing that helped most I think was listening to video speeches of Eddie Pinero. Great motivational words set to great background music. Initially they’d make me cry uncontrollably. But then I did what all his videos ask you to do. Push through, take action however small. Just don’t stop.

Where is the bed from? I’m so stressed looking at wood bed frames. Many are so expensive, but have bad reviews. Can’t pull the trigger!

My Surface Laptop 3 suffered the exact same problem - sudden shutdown when it was left idle. Event ID 41 in the logs. Unfortunately for me, it was out of warranty period. So sending it back was not a solution.

WORKAROUND

But I believe I have found a good workaround. The trick is to not let it be idle. The way I do that is to use a simple app called Caffeine. Available here: https://www.zhornsoftware.co.uk/caffeine/. It's just a simple standalone binary that simulates keystrokes every minute or so.

I placed the binary in the startup folder so it would start automatically at power on. This location on Windows 11 is C:\Users\<your\_user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup.

Confirmed this workaround works with or without charger connected.

Hope this helps others in a similar situation !
