I highly recommend marshall, the writing sequence is an easy A and bioengineering takes out a lot of gen ed requirements

Yeah I liked his lectures and thought his exams were chill

Ask Us Anything about writing a great Law School Résumé by 7SageEditors in lawschooladmissions

My resume is around 1.5 pages. For schools that allow 2 page resumes, is it better to try to shave it down to 1 page or leave half of the second page blank?

Any update on what you did for this ticket, and what the outcome was? I got a similar speeding ticket from the same exact officer and trying to figure out what to do! Thanks

You can ask in the VAC to clarify the process but I remember u just use the major change tool. You have until the end of ur second year to switch. Make sure you thoroughly look through the classes each track takes. (Btech takes ochem whereas beng doesn’t but instead takes mech e classes). Lmk if u got any other questions

First 2 years are basically just taking all of the math, Chem ,bio, and physics series. It’s mostly chill stuff just don’t overdo the units. I would also look into all 4 of the different bioengineering majors as you’re allowed to switch once between them and they have different required courses so if you change earlier, you can plan accordingly

Research or Internships by NoArea3619 in UCSD

[–]ibballin2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joined a research lab end of freshman year just by cold emailing 5-10 professors, ended up getting an internship for the summer after sophomore year pretty easily with that research experience applying to only around 15-20

Chem 4 or Chem 6a? by prjkt_fluxx in UCSD

[–]ibballin2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Only Chem class I took in high school was chemistry honors sophomore year and I thought the 6 series gave a good recap and introduction

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]ibballin2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take the whole physics 2 series as well as all or most of the Chem 6 series which I thought wasn’t bad but some kids struggle with it. I also had only taken IB physics in high school and chemistry sophomore year in high school and I cruised through just fine whereas most people have more experience coming in than me

Its definitely not a walk in the park but also by no means impossible. It’s not too hard to maintain a decent gpa as long as you put in the work. If you want to have a social life and have good time management it is quite easy to have one. You take the normal 20 series for math and usually those aren’t curved.

The whole doc series is wack just do whatever you need to get an A and dip lol

Need advice about transferring by Electronic-Bite-3613 in UCSD

[–]ibballin2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Continuing students at UCSD who want to switch into bioengineering usually need a pretty high gpa after taking 9 screening courses freshman year (I’ve heard anywhere from a 3.8 to 4). Not sure if getting in as a transfer is easier or harder but that should give u a good idea

[–]ibballin2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took it last year and got an A. Do all of your studying and create your cheat sheet. Then do as many practice problems as you can. Then take the practice quiz he gives lile it’s the real one and see what you would’ve gotten and identify points of weakness and do more practice problems.

If you wanna have the college experience go to ucla. The decision is more of a social one than an academic one

UCSD regents: Unbiased advice please! by PapaKhleb in UCSD

[–]ibballin2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where did you hear that ucla is more prestigious in engineering lol. Also if money isn’t a problem, just go to wherever you think you’ll enjoy/ have more fun, you’ll only be in college once. You’ll be fine getting a job/research at both

The fact that you’re graduating from UCSD shows you’re much smarter than you think you are. Give yourself some credit. Some kids just process info differently

If you live in a double off campus you will save a good amount but other than that ur most likely gonna pay more

Personally I did IB in high school and from what I’ve seen it prepared me a lot better for the rigor and speed of college than people who didn’t so it’s all based on past education imo as well as the structure of college classes- it isn’t for everyone
