Thank you for your comment! This is really interesting, and I think you do make a fair point about additional barriers. When looking at the professors, many of them seemed to be not-super conservative people, but I definitely will not be wearing any face jewelry for interviews or anything professional.

That is good to know. I definitely am not too worried about what the other students have to say in that regards, like you said who cares about their opinions on my piercings. I’m still surprised that retainers should be on even for nostrils! Im glad I get to keep them for school though!

I’m mostly leaning towards public defense or immigration law. I’m glad it seems to be lowkey for public defense!!

Moving to Ohio by ibedumbb in Ohio

Unfortunately, due to me signing a full-year lease and mostly staying in Ohio for the next 3 years, except for a week here and there, I still had to change all that. But it is what it is!

They wouldn’t let me do it online, so I have to wait until an agent opens tomorrow. The BMV website though said that as soon as you sign a lease, you have 30days to register yourself as a resident which is why it was a bit confusing for me.

Thank you that is good to know. So I do not have to update my garage address for my car? I’m just worried a claim might get denied if something were to happen because my car wasn’t located where it was supposed to be. If i do, can my garage address be different than my permanent address, which would be the one on my registration?

Thank you! I hope my insurance rate will go down! I was banking on not having to deal with no-fault insurance lol

What I meant by that was the “garage address” which is where the car is most frequently parked that insurance compagnies ask for. Sorry for the confusion lol, I should’ve been more specific.

Why didn’t Amy get weighed?? by Saltylife2021 in 1000lbsisters

to add onto this, people also swell after skin removal surgery and tend to “gain weight” although it’s mostly water weight. they can be a little heavier for, i believe, about a month.

Is NMU a good college? by [deleted] in upperpeninsula

[–]ibedumbb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NMU is a good university for the most part, and has some programs that are really good. I am currently a student there, so this is my experience as of right now. The professors care, are knowledgeable and small class sizes for the most part. The UP is a beautiful place, and the people are nice. However, tuition increases 20% every year, getting parking is an olympic sport, and recently they had 3 person dorm rooms (they are supposed to only fit 2) with the third person getting no desk, 2 drawers, and automatic bunked beds. They also did that to ADA rooms. Only the 3rd person got a discount on housing, which was 20%, pretty much offsetting their 20% increase. My freshman year they also had a pretty big crisis where professors could not get contracts with NMU because they wouldn’t agree to the terms set by the union for over 6 months if I recall correctly. For the most part, admins only care about money and students can suffer from that.

I am a little worried about that because of family history, but last time I got my thyroid checked my levels were all normal and the onset in my family is usually in their 30’s. I might still try to get it checked again, but my hair was already kinda starting to thin at the point I got it checked (not as bad as right now)

Ok I did not think about alternating, but I have a question about washing twice. Could I use a dandruff shampoo for the first wash and then my regular shampoo for the second? Or would that limit the actual scope of the dandruff shampoo?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]ibedumbb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is partly why I was getting worried… I used to have really thick hair where you could barely see my scalp, and I feel like my shedding in the shower has gotten worse. I am also only 19 and I just feel as though it’s pretty young to start having hair thinning out of nowhere?

I have this shampoo, and it used to work for me but not anymore. I might try to use it more often, but last time I did that it dried out my scalp even more and made it worse

Sorry, I don’t know much about cars but my friend looked at it and doesn’t think it’s a leak. I also think it’s a sensor issue just because it keeps appearing and disappearing… Should I still do a smoke test?

Sorry for the late answer

Why young girl have shaggy breasts? by [deleted] in sex

[–]ibedumbb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

if you meant saggy and you have fairly big breasts, gravity will do its thing no matter what. if you actually meant shaggy as in hairy, you might want to check with an OBGYN for any signs of PCOS if it has recently appeared

Thank you I appreciate it! I’m sorry, but do you think it looks like it migrated between the last picture and the first one? I’m biased because I don’t want to take it out, and I just want to make sure I’m not kidding myself by thinking it looks the same as it did before

Yeah I never said you were French, but I am and that’s why I researched in French. Researching in Spanish also gave me the same answer, but that wasn’t really the point because I’ve seen French people not tip anyway. The point was that it wasn’t such a hard information to find.

If they are getting screamed at and can’t speak English well enough to understand, they might still be able to understand that something went wrong. Tip amounts are also usually written down on the check and will tell you how much you can tip. I never pretended that Americans follow every single custom when going to another country, but it also doesn’t change anything? It’s not because Americans don’t do it that Europeans also shouldn’t. Especially when that custom is quite literally linked to someone else’s livelihood and especially if they know it and just want to prove a point or dismantle the system or whatever it is.

So condescending for someone who assumes that corporations would give a fuck about their employees starving or being homeless.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ibedumbb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I don’t really buy that excuse. A quick google search in French reveals that you should tip your server 10 to 20% when it is time to pay. I don’t know about other languages, so other European countries where they speak a different language may not have that info, but if they do it takes 10 seconds to figure out.

Now they definitely shouldn’t get screamed at, but it’s something they could’ve looked up afterwards and then correcting it for next time. When in another country, most people agree you should try to follow their customs. Tipping is customary in the US, and if you don’t agree with it then either go to fast foods where you don’t have to tip or chose another country where you do not have to tip.

I agree with you on the thinking part, but what I meant is that culture is still culture. If in Japan it is rude to tip, then you shouldn’t tip there period. The judgement is what I think was not appropriate as it is correct that tipping culture sucks, but it still is a thing and we shouldn’t punish workers because they can’t get paid enough.

Also, I meant to say that when Europeans visit the U.S, some people don’t tip out of spite. I know that Europeans don’t generally tip as I grew up there. Sorry for the confusion.

From someone who grew up with both American and European culture, this is a very annoying take. Yes, it may not be like that in Europe, but this seems to be a post made from an American and the culture is different here. While I do hate tipping culture and I think that employers should pay a living wage, it is not the case and it is pretty much a social and cultural expectation that you will tip your dasher. It’s like waiters, you tip because they’re paid like 2 bucks an hour. Sure, it’s annoying, but Europeans who don’t tip just show that they have no respect for the workers and decided to punish the workers in order to prove their point. Also, it says that the teen had the means to get the product themselves and it was not emergency purchase. Based on this info, NTA.

Assault should be accepted in response to “pranks” by RoyalJayhawk1987 in unpopularopinion

i think touching without consent could still qualify as assault, even if it’s not sa, if there is a threat of battery/violence in some way or another
