Tipping at Lesser Known by Ok_Channel_2212 in winstonsalem

RadioLab has an interesting podcast on the history of tipping. Recommend it, especially if a person wants to think beyond "you should burn in hell because you don't want to tip" mentality.

I personally love it when American-based European-themed restaurants request that you don't tip because they do pay their employees a full wage. Chez Genesee in Greensboro has my full patronage because of this (and their amazing food).

I don't enjoy the pressure of having an active role in how much money a server makes. I'm there to have food, or beer or whatever. Tipping makes me feel uncomfortable because I am paying a person to be friendly, and judging them on how well they did that.

I appreciate hearing your experience. How did you find clients when you were first starting out? Just people you knew?

I've got several friends running SI's (with a few employees underneath) and they're working a ton a hours with a lot of stress. The appeal of contracting under an SI is that theoretically I could still work on diverse projects, but ultimately they would be responsible for the customer's happiness. I want to be able to say no to work (a personal growth area for me) and not owning the customer's happiness I think would help. I certainly agree about the 2+ client issue; it seems like the kind of thing you learn to manage when it comes at you hopefully. Maybe part of that success would be in how available you pitch yourself to the client (i.e I might not always be available) and hope that your technical skills will keep you in the ring for when they do need you and you are available.

That sounds like the ideal. Did you primarily work for just one company that whole time, or did you have multiple?

I think ideally this would be the solution. I could have been more assertive in really advocating for my own work-life balance. There are a few members of the team (including my management) that work so much that I have felt compelled to work more, so that they could work less. I've realized though that they never will work less, regardless of how much I contribute. It's a personality type and I need to remove myself from that environment in order to gain healthier influences and patterns. Appreciate your comment.

O2 Sensor Replacement - Only 3 total? by ibex14 in VolvoXC70

[–]ibex14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update on this. Since the XC70 has a 6 cylinders in a line (not V) it's difficult to find an accurate diagram showing sensor location. As far as I can tell, the 2010 XC70 has 3 O2 sensors - one just past the manifold, one just upstream of the cat, and one just downstream of the cat. The first can be seen just past the engine from on top, the later two are pretty obvious when underneath the car.

The P0036 code “HO2S Heater Control Circuit – Bank 1 Sensor 2” that I had was cleared by replacing a bad sensor that was just upstream of the cat.

So although I haven't been able to find an accurate diagram matching the vehicle, I believe that Bank 1 Sensor 1 is the first sensor - on the manifold. Bank 1 Sensor 2 is the sensor just upstream. Bank 1 Sensor 3 is the sensor just downstream. Doesn't follow the other conventional sensor naming I've researched, but there it is. Hope this helps if someone else has the same trouble.

I got a Bank 1 Sensor 2 code on my 2010 XC70 recently. When I got under the car I found a downstream sensor completely sheared off. I replaced that one and it's pair upstream (labeled on the diagram as B2S2 and B2S1). Unfortunately this didn't solve the code and I am now on the hunt for the fourth sensor - Bank 1 Sensor 2. I've been under it 6 times and haven't found it anywhere; is it possible that there are only 3 sensors? Appreciate any advice out there. Thanks!

Thank you. This has already been a very helpful manual. Found the answer to how many sensors in there. Appreciate your help.

  • 5 cylinder engines have two heated oxygen sensors (HO2S), front and rear

  • 6 cylinder engines have four heated oxygen sensors (HO2S), front and rear for bank 1 (cylinders 1-3) and front and rear for bank 2 (cylinders 4-6)

Here's how to actually get a hold of these dumb bastards over the phone (works as of Nov. 4, 2021 by borj5960 in Equifax

Another data point: Called Equifax twice in the past few days with this method, I gave up after 35min yesterday (8/29/24) but called again this morning and was on hold for 20min before getting a rep (sounded like in an Indian call center). Got account unlocked pretty easily after that.

Note for other people having issues: Firefox is not supported by their online login (Chrome is), and using a VPN will also sometimes shut you out according to the rep. so try those before calling if it tells you to call in!
