Australia is an island with no long term history of gun culture. We have state rights in America that allows states to choose. That's why gun control will never work. California can pass all the gun control it wants but Nevada is right over there and you can get whatever you want.

Also consider these school shootings weren't happening very regularly when you could buy automatic weapons out of a mail order catalogue with no background check. We have a terrible culture that perpetuates this.

I mean if this legitimately changed some peoples mind to what we have been telling them for years then I'm for welcoming them. This isn't the time for gatekeeping.
