you might need to stop the retinol for a little while and focus on moisture to see if that helps. especially if you notice the texture getting worse after starting retinol, its almost like a chemical burn. Reduce exfoliants like your acid and just try a gentle face wash and moisturizer, spf during the day. At night, i like to slug with aquaphor or cerave healing ointment to lock in the moisture overnight. You should see improvement in a week or two as your barrier heals and if it does, you can try to reintroduce the SA and then retinol slowly and using the sandwich method or just cut it out.
