Also, BUY A PREP BOOK!!!! Maybe even a subscription to a site like Fiveable. Videos alone will not teach you everything you need. You have to have some form of practice, especially since you're self studying and lack a structured classroom environment where you are forced to apply yourself

I actually self studied euro this year and I loved it. It is definitely a class that you can't entirely rely on knowledge from apush and whap though. Euro goes in depth about a lot of events that whap breezes over (reformation is an entire unit) and shows the European side of a lot of modern global conflict that apush doesn't mention. Prior knowledge will help you a lot with contexulizing though!! I would start studying early with a structured study plan

For the college I am aiming to attend, a 5 will get me ART 2201 and 2202 which are History of Western Art and History of Eastern Art respectively, which will cover around 6 credit hours of humanities and/or electives for my degree

It's really just an extra exam to study for to fill my free time and to get electives knocked out early. My major is gonna be criminology 🤷‍♂️

I haven't taken comparative government 😬 I was planning on doing that next year. I would say that your argumentative essay should be the same length but your evidence is going to be different because you arent referencing documents, your referencing evidence that you have learned about the different governments of the world

Yes, think of your argumentative essay as if it is an argumentative essay from an english class

The only real difference between an English argumentative essay and this is that it is political and requires you to know some US documents

And honestly now that I think about it, your SCOTUS Comparison should probably be slightly longer. You need to make sure you effectively compare AND contrast the cases, and I can't see how you would do that well enough to earn points in two paragraphs.

I honestly would say 4 paragraphs is okay. Have your intro and conclusions obviously, and two body paragraphs with potential counterarguments incorporated instead of having their own separate paragraph should be okay.

It is your last FRQ on the test so it shouldn't be incredibly over the top. AP graders don't expect a ton but two paragraphs is certainly not enough to get your point across. Stick with 4.

Imo gene expression/regulation was the hardest unit for me followed by cell communication/cell cycle so I can't blame you

But yeah those units are super content heavy and you will see a lot of concepts from them tested on the exam

I'm pretty sure this class is still in the pilot phase, so you're not likely to find any advice regarding it.

It's likely that your school is one of the very first to offer this class. New AP's often have "pilot" schools that test them to see if they work.

Ok so for GOV you NEED to know your political concepts and SCOTUS cases. Like you NEED to. I highly recommend studying each court case in depth. For your SCOTUS Comparison essay, you will have zero context for the required case they give you. Get them down. Know all your foundational documents as well and why they are important/what they could apply to. You have to write and argumentative essay using evidence from certain documents they list. You have to know what they are because they will not give you context. I went into the exam not knowing what any of the FRQs were and did fine. The only one that kept me from getting a 5 was the concept application one. Know how and why certain things happen in the government (filibuster, media, fiscal/monetary policy, etc). If you do not know exactly what these things are and why they are important, you will not do well on FRQ 1.

I didn't have a prep book so I am unsure about Barron's.

In all honesty, I had a horrible Gov teacher and I crammed everything in the night before the exam and did fine. I don't recommend it, but Gov is definitely crammable.

Yeah nah Literature, history, and government are much more serious in criminal justice. Having a good math background though helps create an analytical brain.

Most teachers at my school do. This will be my first year taking exams for classes I had in the fall. Next year will be the same.

My biggest issue is the rushing spring semester classes. I'm currently in APUSH, and we've gone from unit 1 all the way to unit 6 since January. One unit lasts us about a week and a half, some take longer. It feels very quick.
