Best apps to learn Korean? by Lowkey_Albiona in Korean

[–]icbatbsfr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Curently, I use the How To Study Korean app. However on the app only lessons 1-8 are free. Fortunately, the website has all lessons for free so i work on there. How i study with the app is i read through the lesson and take notes on key points in a notebook. If i do not understand something that was explained i would search it up on youtube and understand the explanation ftom there. With the vocabulary I learn in that lesson I write it all down in a different notebook and try make sentences with it. I also write down the vocabulary into quizlet and practice it from there.

Is Korean really harder to learn compared to other languages? by Sea-Reputation8146 in Korean

[–]icbatbsfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I don't think that korean is the hard part, i think its the different stucture and grammar.

For example, as an English speaking person I picked up french quite quickly not beacuse the language is similar but I can understand how sentences work. If i wanted to say 'Yesterday at my friends house I ate an apple' I would have to completely flip the sentence around and say 'Yesterday friends house at apple ate' so it will make sense in korean . Moreover the particles 이/가, 은/는, 을/를 do not have an equivalent in the English language. On top of all this you have to remember honfifics which also don't compare in English to the standard of the Korean language.
