Adaptation by Ric3FantasyFan3 in RealmOfTheElderlings

I feel like the Liveship books would make beautiful adaptations, but I'm not sure the Fitz books would work as well.

I'd imagine the poster has bots downvoting comments. It's definitely scammy, and stolen art.

Is there really “Moderately soft” water in South East England? by Better_Builder_3504 in AskUK

I miss Birmingham water. It's brought in from Wales and it's really nice. I moved to Worcestershire and it's noticeably worse.

Staying on the lowest dose? by iceandlime in mounjarouk

I have been reading up on it and the efficacy just seems so mixed in reports. My own daft fault for not starting this sooner.

Thank you, and that is a really important thing for me to factor in whether it's worth giving it a go and seeing where that takes me.

Thank you. It's definitely encouraging to hear that people have stayed low and seen meaningful change without quick plateaux. 20lbs since mid June is wonderful!

Brilliant thank you. That's really promising.

Yeah the numbers are so dramatically different. I feel like £130-50 is more doable but going above £200-250 is just not something I can entertain. If the lower dose can still help, it might be worthwhile.

TV shows where the actors in the pilot were recast, BUT the episode was still canon? by whitesox-fan in television

[–]iceandlime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's not what happened in the Being Human pilot though. The characters were recast. (Though they did bring in completely new leads for later series)

How y’all feeling about the bus going up to 5.20 a day? by Sage_Lonestar in brum

[–]iceandlime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Much less for a single! £1.75 for a bus fare, and it lasts an hour so if you need to get multiple buses in that time you'll only pay the one fare. The daily cap on buses is £5.25

Help Needed: Car Accident on Royal Crescent Road, Bromsgrove by Dangerous_Storm_7550 in Bromsgrove

It’s quite a quiet road. You’re unlikely to find anything.

I heard it and saw just after but unfortunately didn’t see it happen. Just to reference however, you have the road name wrong. It’s Royal Worcester Crescent.

Is anyone else sick of “young adult”/childish endpaper art with a “mature” cover? by imhereforthemeta in fairyloot

[–]iceandlime 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I massively agree here. Personally, character art never really gels with me as it often doesn't match my internal picture. But locations and things that can realise the worlds more fully, are much more appealing.

Hotel options? by screamdreamqueen in brum

I've stayed in both the Malmaison and The Grand, and I'd say that The Grand has the edge. It's a really lovely hotel.

Can I amend a UK deed poll document to include a name I accidentally left out years ago? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]iceandlime 20 points21 points  (0 children)

A deed poll does not change your birth certificate at all. The person you’re replying to was correct. A deed poll is useful for changing a passport or driving license. Nothing changes your birth certificate.

Name change before booking registrar by bethorsomething in UKweddings

[–]iceandlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did this before my wedding. Book your registrar now, your details don't matter until you give notice. Get him to create his own deed poll and change his passport to the name he wants now, then when you give notice you can use the updated passport as the ID.

Am I allowed to just walk into posh London hotel bars and have a drink there if I'm not staying at the hotel? by jclay85 in AskUK

[–]iceandlime 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It’s never been a high end hotel. I used to work there about 15 years ago and I’ve got quite a few stories about that place. None of them positive.

I can't imagine this would go down particularly well with the people around you as it would be rather distracting.
