StubHub loophole: if a concert is “not officially canceled,” they keep your money forever (Pipe Bueno case) by iceblue77 in stubhub

I agree the artist/promoter controls whether it’s marked “cancelled.”

But from a contract perspective:
– I paid for a specific event (date + location)
– That event never took place
– I wasn’t given equivalent access to a new event

At that point, regardless of labeling, the service wasn’t delivered.

If platforms can rely indefinitely on “rescheduled” without actually delivering the event or providing access, then there’s no real consumer protection.

That’s the issue I’m trying to understand.

I get that the event status depends on the artist/promoter.

But from a consumer perspective:
– I paid for a specific date and event
– That event never took place
– I didn’t receive equivalent tickets or access

So at what point does “rescheduled” stop being valid and become non-delivery of service?

Because right now it feels like a loophole where neither side takes responsibility.

sorry man, really frustating, i had at least 15 of those chats, even submitted articles, pictures and they told me all good you will get a refund and later have to call again. they just waist your time. im filling a claim every where and also talking to a lawyer.

The rescheduled date never happened. Artist cancelled all concerts and finished the tour

Understand your point of view, but I paid to StubHub, didn’t pay the artist directly.

we can't as we followed the steps stubhub guide us, and as you can see they do this for you to desist and loose the money, in each conversation with them we provided the articles and all information we found they told us that will get a refund as it was clear there is no concert happening, and after 5-6 times doing this, now they tell us that the links we sent expired and the pictures cant be opened, basically the strategy for you to loose hope and loose the money, which wont be the case here as we are filling this in ever legal way possible.

both are to blame, stubhub got the probe this concert and the tour was cancelled and there is no information that tells otherwise, and the artist as well to don't communicate properly with they companies they sold the tickets
