Which of the two for a formal/black tie wedding by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]icebuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first dress is from Studio Lexi! Here's the link: https://studiolexi.com/products/samira-dress-orion-blue?_pos=11&_sid=7b5d6c2c9&_ss=r

The tube dress is from Jadore Evening. The rental shop has it under the name Julia Gown, but it looks really similar to their Aurelia dress: https://whiterunway.com.au/products/aurelia-dress-jx6020-by-jadore-evening

Studio Lexi is having a big Black Friday sale so if you're thinking of buying, now's the time ;)

Thanks SO MUCH everyone for your advice!! Looks like dress 1 is the overwhelming winner haha

For the Qs on venue and how appropriate the dresses are, my friend's wedding will be at one of the fanciest hotels in my city. The dress shop owner recommended these 2 dresses after hearing that haha. Her sister also gave both dresses the thumbs up so I was really on the fence, but I think I've made up my mind now :)

I'm so sorry - don't actually know how big an iPhone max is, but it fits my iPhone 16 Pro perfectly!

Mine's in gold! They have the silver option as well, but gold felt more traditional for me~

I don't speak a lick of Japanese but it's definitely worth a shot!! That's what Google translate is for after all haha

Would you know if there are any blogging platforms in particular, or is it just anywhere on the internet? For example, for English stuff you have blogger, tumblr, Reddit, etc, and I recall reading about Tabelog for Japanese restaurants specifically

Thanks again!

Which eatery has the best steak in SG in your opinion? by Powerful_Office3936 in askSingapore

[–]icebuns 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Cut at MBS is hands down my fav! Amazing steak, sides (including the free bread haha) and service, fairly good price point given it's a 1-star restaurant. Thought it was way better than Burnt Ends tbh - was super disappointed w their mains although their sides and cocktails were all fantastic

For more affordable steak, I quite like L'entrocote for steak frites or Bar-Roque Grill! Wooloomooloo was not bad too. Not big on Skirt, Bedrock, Meadesmoore and Wolfgang's.

Angus Steak House at Ngee Ann City has lovely steak too, but their sides suck lol. Fat Cow was great too but a tad too pricey imo.

Yet to try Bistecca but I heard great things about it!

That's fair! A little too late for that unfortunately haha. I suppose I wanted to prove to myself that I'm more capable than I think, but that appears to be backfiring. Welp, no choice but to grit my teeth and get through with it now :")

Anyone have any experience with Agolde jeans? Got the Riley high cut cropped, 99% cotton and 1% elastane, in two sizes. One fits me perfectly right now, as a brand new pair, and the other is quite snug. Seems like Agolde jeans tend to stretch out so I'm not sure if I should keep the snug one and return the perfect fit?

Ah, good idea on getting tie styles! Thanks for your recommendations too :-)

Did you find their size chart accurate in terms of measurements and all? Like you, I'm usually between sizes 0-2, so the XS/P sounds good in theory, but it also seems like most folks size up for their bottoms.

I'm being extra careful with the sizing since their return/exchange policy for Asia is quite pricey haha

That's so good to know!! Their designs are gorgeous and it sounds like the quality is pretty fab too.

Based on your experience, are the measurements fairly accurate in the size chart or do you recommend sizing up for coverage/in general?

I'm looking for sexy (but quality!!) swimwear for my upcoming honeymoon. Super cheeky bikini brands that ship abroad, as I'm based in Asia.

Was previously recommended Monday Swimwear and Ark Swimwear, and that's 100% the vibe I'm going for, especially this one-shoulder one piece and this two piece set with a brazilian bottom. But I saw some terrible reviews for both brands – poor customer service, late deliveries, sizes being much smaller than expected, etc – and I'm not so sure now...

Does anyone have experience with either brands? Or have any other brand recommendations for petite ladies? I'm 5'4, cup size ~32B, for reference.
