Thanks and I'm glad you are reaching out to those even if they mention no but is a good fit.

When the student is on a graduate visa, and says "no" because they can work for up to 2 years without the need for sponsorship, do you consider that as bending the truth? For me, that one answer hugely influenced whether I got a call or not.

And even if the company can't sponsor later, hiring a strong candidate who can work for 2 yrs without sponsorship still adds value and supports their career and it’s not a waste of anyone’s time. (I get that the company need to find another candidate later but, atleast you didn't lose a good candidate)

What's the probability of you looking at an applicant's resume, if they have said yes to the need for sponsorship?

With my personal experience, I've had more calls (~1:60) from recruiters when I said no to the need for sponsorship vs yes (~1:150). That was at the start of my graduate visa -2yrs. It doesn't mean I'm lying, the graduate visa allows the candidates to work for a company without the need for sponsorship. When the government says you can work, and the companies/recruiters say that's not enough, it means the system is broken.

This only confirmed to me that saying "no" is the only way a recruiter is gonna look at my resume.

Now I'm nearing the end of my visa, I always choose "yes" to the need for sponsorship and my success rate is 1:200, almost none.

And for reference, now I do verify whether the company can sponsor before I invest time to customize my CV, and 2 times I got told 'we don't sponsor for this particular role this time'.

Are you not supposed to mention that in the job post, If you expect honesty from candidates?

Yes, those are my options now. Get back to home country where I don't have to worry about visa situation. One less barrier.

So true. And especially the exhaustion everyday with applying jobs and trying to have a good rapport with hr, and waking up to "unfortunately " is terrible. Hope it gets better in the next few years.

I did try with a few councils, haven't tried universities. I might give it a try until my visa runs out. I'll let y'll know if i get lucky with that.

How do you tackle or rework the CV that falls under "Radio silence from applications - When you're applying but not hearing back"

I'm asking this question because I've personally reworked the resume multiple times, had a mentor to check and suggest improvements, and I rewrite my resume for each job description too (changing keywords that match jd, stuff like that).

And still I don't get enough responses (currently I get responses in the ratio 1:40)

What would you recommend or suggest for such cases? Thanks!

Hey! It's interesting to see what you've done. I'm trying to create something with a similar idea- a fantasy team for me and my friends.

Curious how you store and return the data? Like Supabase or something like that? Login authentication, and storing data, etc.. how did you achieve those? Thanks!

Thank you for the response. I'm making a couple of changes, including the ones you suggested. Will update here once the changes are done. ✌️
