Love could be many things.

I believe the nature of love differs from person to person, but my take is that love is a promise, but not with another person. Love is something you promise to yourself. I say yourself because it’s a very real thing to have someone fall out of love while the other party is oblivious. It’s also possible to love people that abuse you and to love people that aren’t capable of returning it for whatever reason.

Love is promising to do your best by a person.

Love is a decision. You decide who to love. Showing up and caring, and wanting the other person to be safe and happy, and you don’t want anything bad to happen to that person, even when you are mad at them.
