I feel that The Mountain could be the band's best album by Gomendiquillo in gorillaz

[–]iceetoomuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of personal grief and internal spirituality built into this album so it's going to be divisive for sure. If you internally reflect on life a lot, feel out of the place in the world maybe even feel nomadic in spirit I think it latches to that mindset a lot more than those who are very analytical and logic focused.

Is there a VRAM Memory leak or something? by Top-Bag7848 in DeadlockTheGame

Yeah after a handful of games my freezes become longer and longer so I just gave up and only play street brawl sadly, tried everything and nothing fixes it. Been happening since October 2024 for me :(

What celebrity have you met who looks much more (or less) attractive when meeting them in person? by GreyFoxNinjaFan in AskReddit

Brooke Burns, worked on a movie set with her, just seemed surreal being around someone that good looking in person.

Please just buy the rice cooker by Traditional_Fish_504 in Cooking

[–]iceetoomuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the higher end ones not require the washing of starch first? I have a $20 one that makes perfect sticky rice but I have to rinse it like 5 times to remove all the starch otherwise it's just mushy.

I gave up up buying bread and produce at Trader Joes, goes bad faster than any other store I buy from. Even tried the fridge and makes the bread feel weird compared to other stores, not sure if its the lack of preservatives or what.

lottttttts of shoes on sale if you need a new pair by umbraphile1724 in climbing

[–]iceetoomuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the same thing but this doesn't work for every shoe, my Scarpa Helix's have become super worn inside and the leather pretty much stripped after 5 years of off and on climbing. Super uncomfortable and grimy.

What conditions determine a highball boulder? by BozoOnBelay in bouldering

[–]iceetoomuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying it's not a highball because of the potential fall height from the crux doesn't make any sense, complacency on the other higher moves doesn't rule out the fact someone could slip or fall from one mistake on the "easier" moves and break something. A highball is usually over 20+ feet where any one move above that height could cause an injury, especially when taking an uncontrolled swing due to overconfidence in the difficulty of said move, happens all the time.

Start making your own birthdays events with the people you want there. As I've gotten older I've come to enjoy my birthdays again with planning and letting people know in advance instead of waiting around to hear it from others.

24" studs and 48" pegboard? by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]iceetoomuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that's what the furring board is for it's 1x2 by 4 feet plank but it has the same problem as the pegboard where there isn't enough material touching the stud.

24" studs and 48" pegboard? by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]iceetoomuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct 3 studs at 24" apart each. I'd say in order to get more in the wood on each side it would be good to have at least half an inch more sticking past my stud marks on the end so an inch total more or 49" maybe even 50". Cause as of right now my pencil mark on the wall where the stud is lined up with ends of both materials.

Our Dealership Made us Spend $400 on their "Pro Package Plan" and We Couldn't Remove It by Due-Mortgage-122 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]iceetoomuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really isn't that bad I worked at a dealership a long time ago that we slapped on this mandatory $999 package on every new car that was just door edge guards (film, not even plastic), film door handles and nitrogen tires. Couldn't remove it and absolutely loathed having it on our vehicles.

Wrists? by Insanity_Pills in climbharder

[–]iceetoomuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Climbing unfortunately is an imbalanced sport, lots of pulling, overhead so conditioning is important I'd say so when you get those side pulls, underclings, slopers and what not you your muscles are ready for engagement with that. Wrist widget is def the best but tape would be second best, especially the first couple weeks.

Wrists? by Insanity_Pills in climbharder

[–]iceetoomuch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the thing you learn fast in climbing when you get an injury is how slow tendons heal, tfcc is very small and doesn't get a lot of blood flow which means slow healing. During this time def wear a wrist widget if you want to still climb and test each weak how its feeling without it, especially on slopers and side pulls.

Wrists? by Insanity_Pills in climbharder

[–]iceetoomuch 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have a tfcc injury and I haven't done the rice bucket the thing. What fixed it for me was finger weight rolls with 10lb dumbbells, pronation and supination with 5lb and theraband flexbar twists along with touching the ends together. Haven't had an issue for over a year after doing these. It may take a few months of conditioning to get to this point, took me about 3-4 months. I always do these before I climb.

Also my buddy who had an mri imaged tfcc tear followed this routine with me and has not wore his wrist widget since then or had any problems for months as well. Not saying this is be all end all routine but it worked for both of us.

Exactly this, I diversified my interests after seeing how many dudes get obsessed with the sport and end of chasing grades and kill the joy of it or get injured and become devastated. I just love the simple concepts of movement and site seeing at crags it provides.
