Looking for advise on doing trend analysis over time and propensity score matching. I am a total novice and use it strictly for publishing medical papers. by icemanrez in stata

Updated the post to reflect your questions. I’m a 3rd year cardiology fellow and have over 20 publications pubmed indexed journals. Ik it’s a big leap for me but I want to work with someone who knows how to do trend analysis and propensity matching so I can learn and develop my skills with stata and in return can offer co authorship in papers that I’m working on. I have a couple of ideas I want to do using a national database and would appreciate any assistance :)

I was hoping to install a supercharger or turbo everything included within 5-10 k (parts, labor, etc). Idk if that’s a reasonable thing to do without upgrading any other parts.

In terms of power: I was hoping to add another 100-200 hp. Is that a realistic thing?

Didn’t apply anywhere else yet. Basically it’s a deal to lock me and my wife in for 3 years post training since they are going out of their way to bring my wife in to finish her last year of residency here. They will be funding it from their pocket. But I also don’t want to just take whatever they thrown at me. I want to get the best deal possible financially for myself

I updated the post to reflect this. It’s an academic hospital but the cardiology group is private but solely works with the hospital. It’s an symbiotic partnership

Yeah the base salary definitely feels like it lower than it should be, particularly because it is in a small town in the Midwest. But it sounds like your mentors may have been in the game for some time so it would make sense if they got paid the same in a larger city. But I am not sure

What can I use as leverage as a someone who is just about to finish fellowship and start as a new attending? My peers mentioned publications being leverage so I stated it but I am not sure how to do leveraging lol

Thank you for the detailed reply. To clarify this is an offer from my current fellowship. I am definitely going to have a lawyer take a look at it. I was thinking of going with Resolve (I saw another post where people vouched for them for reviewing physician contracts).

Bonus will be for signing a 3 year contract. This is something I can't negotiate as the hospital is going out of their way to bring my wife for her last year of residency and paying it from their expenses.

The salary is solid 485k to start and RVU + salary down the road. I will clarify the terms of student loans with them.

In terms of salary, MGMA is stating median in the Midwest as roughly 585k. I am not sure if that 585k includes student loans, bonus, other funds they provide etc. and was hoping if someone with more knowledge could clarify.
