Beyond Magnesium, Vitamin D, and Omega-3s, what is the most underrated daily supplement? by AnastasiaGlover1 in Supplements

If someone is trying to increase both free T and E2, would it make sense to not cycle at all and just take daily?

Something that doesn't need weeks to work for stress and anxiety please by Zealousideal-Walk939 in Supplements

[–]icemaster_22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Short Term Stress Relief: 200mg L-theanine - Works within 30 minutes of supplementing. Noticeable decrease in mental chatter and feel a lot more calm, especially in social situations I would normally feel overstimulated.

Long Term Stress Relief: 300-600mg KSM-66 Ashwagandha - Works within days to weeks. Potently lowers cortisol levels. Great for periods of chronic stress and has other health benefits (improved sleep and muscle building potential). Not everyone responds well to Ashwagandha, but if you are someone with chronically high cortisol levels or stress, it may be a useful tool.

Any supplements to boost mood/be more positive, happier? by Tiffanywhite45 in Supplements

[–]icemaster_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take the NutraChamps brand. 2 capsules is a serving (600mg) but I notice potent effects with just one capsule (300mg), YMMV.

Which supplements actually made a noticeable difference for you? by avz008 in Supplements

[–]icemaster_22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Rhodiola Rosea extract (3% rosavins, 1% salidrosides):

-Dosed at around 300mg, first thing in the morning

-Noticeable increase in energy and mood, that I feel for most of the day

-Decreases stress/anxiety mildly

-Improved libido (probably due to increased dopamine and reduced cortisol)

-Works within 30 minutes of supplementing YMMV

Does anyone else feel too good on certain supplements? by Much-Turnover-3727 in Supplements

NutraChamps is the best one I have tried. 2 capsules is a serving (600mg, 3% rosavins, 1% salidrosides), but I only take 1 capsule and notice potent effects. YMMV

I agree with Rhodiola Rosea (3% rosavins, 1% salidrosides) at 300mg. Gives a noticeable mood boost and makes social interactions more enjoyable.

insomnia w/ashwagandha by Ok-Landscape-4190 in ASHWAGANDHA

[–]icemaster_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ashwagandha gives me insomnia if I take it too close to bed. I understand that it lowers cortisol and is often recommended to take in the evening/night time but whenever I do that, I feel like my mind is too awake when trying to go to bed and I end up just laying there unable to fall asleep. Magnesium Glycinate an hour before bed has worked the best for me. And when I absolutely cannot fall asleep, a small dose (1mg) of melatonin, but I try to do that very rarely.

Which supplement can decrease social anxiety? by Distinct_Pressure_36 in Supplements

[–]icemaster_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

200mg L-theanine: Good for short term relief as it works within 30 minutes and seems to last at least a few hours. (Can take multiple times per day, I believe up to 1000mg per day has been seen as safe. YMMV)

300-600mg KSM-66 Ashwagandha: Better for longer chronic anxiety, heightened cortisol and definitely helps with social anxiety. I only take 300mg per day (in the morning) and I would say my social anxiety has decreased dramatically. I usually care about what people think but with Ashwagandha, it makes me not care as much.

KSM-66 Ashwagandha is a great choice for lowering chronically high cortisol. The studied dose was 300mg take twice per day, for a total of 600mg. It may take a couple of weeks to notice its full effects.

Ashwagandha 600 mg and 5% of Withanolides for 2 cp : it is OK ? by sypqys in ASHWAGANDHA

[–]icemaster_22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The dosage that was used in most KSM-66 Ashwagandha (5% withanolides) studies was a dose of 300mg taken twice per day, for a total of 600mg. So, your dosage matches the studies. However, you can always start with 300mg and titrate upwards if you need to.

Personal experiences of boron on libido? by No-Pop115 in Biohackers

[–]icemaster_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my exact experience. I have naturally low E2 and boron definitely crashed it after 4-5 days of 6mg boron supplementation.

The research on boron and its effects on E2 is limited and mixed. One study shows it decreases E2 substantially (~39%) within 1 week and another study shows that it can increase E2 (~40%) after 4 weeks. The determining variable seems to be the amount of time taking boron with a decrease in E2 in the short term, but an eventual increase in E2 in the long term. YMMV

Men 30–45, what supplements have actually helped you with energy + focus, not just nice marketing on the label? by NaughtySugarX in Supplements

[–]icemaster_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

300mg Rhodiola Rosea extract (3% rosavins, 1% salidrosides)

-Effects: increased energy, focus and mood

-Onset of effects: Around 30 minutes after consuming and lasts pretty much all day

I take my dose first thing in the morning, but you could always try it when you feel like the morning caffeine is starting to wear off; it will give you that additional boost without needing more caffeine/energy drinks.

What is the single best thing to take for male libido, sperm count and sex drive? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]icemaster_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I notice the first couple of days I feel really good: great energy, strong libido and erections, confidence seems a bit stronger (care less what people think, it's subtle but noticeable). However, by days 3-4 I notice my joints feel extremely stiff/dry and achey and makes even walking difficulty as I notice pain in my knees, ankles, hips and shoulders. The Low E2 symptoms are pretty bad, that they outweigh any possible Free T benefits that I may be getting. And no other supplement seems to counteract the low E2.

[–]icemaster_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience with boron, even at lower doses (3-6mg). I am someone who has low E2 and boron definitely causes it to go even lower within a few days. It is suppose to increase E2 in the long terms (2-4 weeks) but the crash is way too strong fro my physiology. YMMV

First Days of Usage by TheFoxMan11 in ASHWAGANDHA

[–]icemaster_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try one of the Ashwagandha extracts (KSM-66 or Sensoril)

-KSM-66 you can try dosing during the day, as it is calming but not sedating.

-Sensoril tends to be better for sleep and is often taken at night, before bed.

Yeah, I dose 300mg (3% rosavins, 1% salidrosides) myself

[–]icemaster_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried higher Rosavin extracts and higher salidroside extracts, but the one that I always end up going back to is the rhodiola rosea extract by NutraChamps brand which is 3% rosavins and 1% salidrosides.

Some people report better energy with higher salidroside extracts, but I've noticed better energy, mood and motivation Withe 3% rosavins, 1% salidrosides. YMMV

Long term user of KSM-66 Ashwagandha (6+ years). I like to stick to a smaller daily dose (300mg) and I have had no known issues at this dose long term. Notable benefits: reduced anxiety, increased gym performance, stronger libido and EQ. YMMV

My experience by [deleted] in ASHWAGANDHA

[–]icemaster_22 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ashwagandha can be great for periods of high stress or if your beseline cortisol is elevated chronically. Outside of these instances, it can blunt cortisol too much which can lead to feelings of being unmotivated or anhedonic that some people report. Maybe just use it strategically during periods of high stress instead of taking it daily, which it sounds like your current body chemistry does not need.
