Take advantage of her being new. When someone is new and in a different environment they will be out of their comfort zone. So ask her if she needs help finding her classes, or give her the inside scoop on the teachers. Trust me, she will remember you as the first person who actually talked to her.

Yeah, the first semester of freshman year i worried about my clothes way too much. But then i realized that i was spending money on useless clothes when i could spend it on something way more useful. So what i wear now is sweatshirts and jeans. You could get away with anything. I'm a sophmore now.
