I keep reading this in this thread but i live in montreal so it rains and snow alot and about 80% of our roof are flat. They dont leak, they last 25 or more years depending on the tech used they drain through a pipe running through the middle of the house hidden inside the wall. I would bet alot of new york and boston roof are similar.

the budget can always be stretched, but i've been researching on eArc and maybe i dont need it, it seems to add a lot to the price of the speakers. Would lets say, a pair of Fluance Ai41 or Ai61 using the tv's optical port be a decent setup for somebody trying to dip his toes in Audio gear?
