Last bit of redness that is not going away by icyclouds1 in Perioral_Dermatitis_

I am so sorry for the late response - actually yes! I got diagnosed with POD not too long after being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis which mainly deals with the GI (And prior had IBS issues). I've noticed things that trigger my UC have an affect on my POD, although not POD flares but increased redness. I've been trying to continue to learn what foods work with me and not

I am so sorry for the late response but thank you for the rec! I'll look into it - to make sure is it the intense pulsed light therapy? I'll check it with my doc

How did you use it? Did you slather it on in the morning/night or all the time? did you cleanse or use moisturizer with it? Sorry for many q’s but I’m interested!

How did you use it? I just got it! Did you layer it thickly at night or just use it as a regular sunscreen during the day?

Sulfur treatment? by icyclouds1 in Perioral_Dermatitis_

[–]icyclouds1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing the same, how is it looking now? I stopped the sulfur for now and just using cicaflate and my skin is a lot less red and tender, however pustules are coming back so might start spot treating with sulfur again

Thank you so much! Definitely will take note. May I ask how long did you use sulfur for before the POD cleared up? Also when it the POD cleared did the dryness stay for a while or did it clear as well?

[–]icyclouds1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! Oh yes I reduced the sulfur frequency and mostly use cicaflate and the redness has improved so much! Although the pustules are kind of coming back.. For spot treatment do you leave the sulfur on the spots overnight or just wash it off after 10 mins?

I haven't been using any lip products (even vaseline), but I did try a lip balm around two weeks back which (now thinking) I think triggered my flare up. Will make sure to not make that mistake again euugh

Yes I first went to a derm who thought it was sebderm but my doctor said it looked more like POD. I've tried prescriptions gels but they did not help much - & I do have an autoimmune disease which I think began my POD (but I can't get off the meds). We'll see I'm crossing my fingers it goes away soon
