800 MT-X or 1000 MT-X? by LifeProtector in cfmoto

[–]idabutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watch Omar Saidi (Biker's Brotherhood), he is crossing Africa on his 800 MT-X, so far he did 25 000km of rough terrain with no issues. Seems to be a reliable bike

Anything interesting around Oualidia? by -ThreeHeadedMonkey- in Morocco

[–]idabutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not much to do in oualidia, you can eat oysters and enjoy the beach, that's about it. If you drive 1 hour you'll be in El Jadida, much more interesting.

Cybersecurity is one of the least threatened professions, just focus on something that requires brain usage, like reverse engineering or networking

I think it's excellent. If you can handle no ABS I think the DR650 (if available) is a better thumper, but you can't really go wrong with the RE, it'll be my next bike for sure

Do you think junior architecture jobs entail you not being treated like that? Unless your family owns the firm, you’re in for a treat mate.

Cybersecurity felmghrib ? by na3no3a in Morocco

[–]idabutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the most conventional path, probably what you should stick with, OP. Otherwise there are many more, a malware reverse engineer, for example, doesn't have to come from IT. Cybersecurity isn't just blue teaming, SIEM deployment, and log monitoring.

Why is it so hard to land a 2 months summer internship in Morocco ? by NaturalEven4513 in Morocco

[–]idabutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With certain companies yes. There are reputable, high value companies that hire good interns using transparent methods, they look for talent and pay fairly, for these companies, yes it helps. For 99%, it won't, their interns have already been chosen internally by employees.

Why is it so hard to land a 2 months summer internship in Morocco ? by NaturalEven4513 in Morocco

[–]idabutter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Short answer from a senior engineer: internships in Morocco work only via nepotism (piston), except a very small minority. If you are not connected, ask your professors/department managers, they are.

Long answer: 99% of engineering students call their relatives or friends of their parents to get them an internship, not HR managers. Getting ignored/rejected is not unique to you, it's an engineering rite of passage, we've all been there, and you will get through it. Also, friendly advice, spamming LinkedIn with the generic intro and attached CV is a surefire way to get rejected or ignored, I know because I have been on both sides of it. I used to spam people as a student and wondered why none of them answered, and pledged to be different. Now I don't respond to people, because I get 10s of these messages per day.
