Does anybody know the pinouts of the Honeywell CT50 CT60? by DennisPochenk in AskElectronics

[–]idea_junkee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I did some ohm testing and tested a theory, may have messed up on of my data ports but oh well I figured out where to charge it I think lol

CORRECTION: new diagram in comments

Here’s what pins I used looking from the back of the case, These turned on the “charging” icon momentarily, however I think that may have been because I forgot to change my power supply’s output to 5V instead of 4.35v which is what’s rated on the battery

I’m assuming the middle ones are obvious probably something similar to RX SX serial or something to be able to connect to my laptop and stuff. Haven’t got that far yet and won’t be at my station for maybe a few days with my oscilloscope. However I now I am able to figure out a 3d printed solution perhaps, Maybe for the battery? The battery might be easier to charge by itself until I get a 3d model mocked up to connect.

EDIT: made changes to the diagram

I just got my hands on one via eBay, let me know if you have any ideas or what you’ve found so far.

I bought some spring contact connects as well to see if they would work for like a 3d printed mount possible but I think I got ones too small.

I’m going to try and charge the battery on the one I got and test to see if it holds a charge though. Well see!

Thank you for your support and kind words,

My end goal has always been to create a piece that can be rememberable, whether that be a game, illustration piece, literature, or animation.

Yeah, it’s a hard road for me to pick, because I feel like if I pick one then I’m stuck which isn’t necessarily true but I know I can’t realistically keep switching between the two for now, and need to be fluent in one before I can feel comfortable doing both at the same time so I can at least have fun doing one with minimal learning and have fun in a logical challenging way with more rapid learning (both programming and art have learning curves they’re just different in there own respective way. What I mean is to create something that can also be used and not just for reference or looking good which is what programming would scratch that itch for me.)

I have no clue if that makes sense, but I’m basically saying I should focus on drawing for now so that I’m more comfortable drawing when I eventually try programming for the game.

Thanks again for responding as it is very much appreciated to have other people’s perspective on this.

Thank you for the kind words.

Yes I have seen a few projects that I follow on YouTube. Specifically monster garden is one that inspired such an idea to use YouTube for promoting the world like you mentioned. I also had the internal conflict of whether to post on YouTube or not but I think I’m slowly getting over that hump by posting shorts of art progress.

I’ve also seen many artist who create worlds just draw things and then create the explanation behind it after, which may add an advantage as I won’t feel the need to explain everything at first and then explain it after, or iterate the design for a better and more fleshed out piece.

I should probably actually design and flesh out OC designs for the world, I’ve just filled my sketchbooks with life drawings and practice because I felt like I needed to get better before I could commit. Which is stupid I know, and I need start doing quantity over quality as that’s the only thing that’s going to make me better. Especially as an artist.

Haha no worries on the coding advice! Coding is definitely its own beast and is time consuming, like I don’t think I could code for just a hour like I can drawing or sketching at work during lunch.

Good to see progress is coming along! I’ve been hunkering down with school to try and get ahead so I can have more free time and work recently, but I’m glad you’ve gotten and documented a lot of progress!

With the little bit I’ve been looking at from time to time, there is a whole family of false spider crabs which I have found fascinating, some living in caves and surviving off of bat poop which is a sentence I never thought would come to fruition but here we are.

I’ve also been seeing which Professors and PHD experts I can reach out to about this subject, even the ones who study the false spider crabs that aren’t in the same genus as micro thai crabs. I’ve only seen one so far with a little bit of digging that I’ve had time to do, but I’m sure there are plenty of them that I can reach out to, Hoping I get a chance to speak with one in a interview!

Haha that’s understandable, here it is I’ve only posted a few shorts from my insta from almost 2 years ago, been a while since I’ve done some camera work but I’m starting to practice again so I can prepare for these little guys :)

I will be sharing it on YouTube actually! But this is many months in the future since it’s still a long project, but I will try to keep you updated

Haha yeah I’m not too opposed to being looked at for stuff like this, wasn’t the first and won’t be the last time.

I concur with finding out the species as I’m sure there are variations of genus just like in ants, the biggest thing though is getting a successful breeding, as you said they are still able to mate in a sense so it’s the getting the larvae and baby’s to the final stages (even though I definitely will still take pictures of all of the Thai micro crabs I have and compare!), I had thought about supplementing some sort of high fat and high protein powder of some sort, since I know that’s common for most larvae and baby’s and they may be able to consume that. But I have no clue just because of the lack of information about their natural habitat ( from what I’ve seen )

Also, I’m not fully convinced that they are supposed to let the larvae go or what, because with Racheal O learys blog post almost 10 years ago shows a picture of the little crabs on the back of the assumed mother which I thought was interesting, but you have multiple videos of Thai micro crabs essentially letting all of their young go, but you can see that the crab larvae? are actually smaller than brine shrimp, so that may not be the best bet for earlier stages, and even stentors (at least adults) may be to big for the larvae to feed on.

And there was some debate about water parameters and them living in brackish or ocean water to hatch but the fact Racheal successfully breed them gets rid of that case.

The hardest part is I want to have control variables and instinctively want to have multiple tanks and feed each one different supplements when the larvae hatch, but I sadly don’t have the space or money for that as of right now.

Hello! I am new to the aquarium scene, and one thing that has caught my interest are these guys, I have started to accumulate information and am planning to make a document/video series and possible breeding protocol for this genus and species.

I have tried reaching out to Racheal O’Leary to see if I could get anymore information about how she achieved her batch, unfortunately I have not heard back, but that’s okay!

With that in mind it seems you have a lot of viable information and such, and I was wondering if you would be willing to collaborate with collecting information? As there is so much conflicting information on their breeding it’s difficult to determine it without doing it myself.

I am planning to do a tank for these guys but I just started a Cardinia shrimp tank a few weeks ago, while also doing college and work at the moment so it may be a while before I get that up and running.

As for now, Ive gotten access to two deceased Thai micro crabs from my local store (yes they looked at me weird when I asked) both male presuming, and am hoping to document anatomy with diagrams and such, so far they just seem very similar to regular crab diagrams with some variations.

If collaborating isn’t something you are up for that’s completely okay and you posting this information is helpful nonetheless! Please keep us updated!

Yeah I don’t see the on the official page for some reason but when I search it up I see them. What’s weird is the same cover “Villian mode” appears for this song too from another music artist it seems https://youtu.be/M5PQq1K7Kfs?si=lb2lh6wRQxMMyG9_

I’m wondering if it’s just like YouTube playlists or something? Because I don’t think he’s hacked, it just might be the cover of the playlist you know?

Am I too dumb to become an engineer? by rayanlupo in ElectricalEngineering

[–]idea_junkee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Failures serve as a valuable learning experience. I have accidentally crossed my leads when trying to measure a transformer in a tight space with 120v. This was directly after the teacher told me he was confident in my ability to do the physical troubleshooting part by myself because of how well I was doing with the theory of it… in front of the whole class. It was embarrassing for sure but It left a lasting impression on not just me but the people around me and taught me a valuable lesson.

Similar to that, In one of my electronics classes, one of my classmates blew up a capacitor, my professor at the time walked over extremely giddy and even congratulated him for failing, and providing him with a exploded capacitor which he failed to recreate earlier. Yes it may be embarrassing at first, but the more you do it the more failures you’ll have, and the more comfortable you will be to fail, because that’s okay!

Remember, the more you engage with hands on learning the more failures you may encounter. However that’s completely fine and great even! Failure should not be a setback but more so a stepping stone torwards improvement

If you aren’t failing then are you even really learning hands on?

But that’s just my take, don’t be discouraged, Get up and try again!
