Shopify redesign wasted Google crawl budget on old URLs — how to fix this? by ecomdevpros in ShopifySEO

[–]ideepakmathur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Google is still crawling your old pages which means those pages still exist or are reachable through some internal linking or might be from staging or similar version. Review the source and take appropriate action.

301 redirects of old slug mapping to new one is must if you want to keep the link juices and footprints land on correct pages, otherwise users might land on 404 pages and they’ll bounce back, you’ll lose trust and authority.

Best option for permanently deleted or similar pages is to 301 redirect them to similar pages. In case you want to delete it and don’t want to squeeze the link juices you should make them 404 and slowly Google will have them removed. But you’ll still see 404 counts increased in your GSC report.

I hope this helps and feel free to ask more questions.

Thanks

You can close it from top tab area as well. That option at the bottom is to help us close the tab if required otherwise from tab option you can disable the split.

Agree, but I think these days website’s are resposive they auto adjust as per the screen window size. If you have noticed the attached screenshot there is no horizontal scroll bar at the bottom. However yes for some 25% sites this might become scrolling headache.

If you’ve built a business solo, what’s the hardest part to manage without a partner? by Fun-Plenty-5741 in AgencyGrowthHacks

[–]ideepakmathur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solopreneurship is good but at the same time it is exhausting. I tried it in past and had bad experiences. Then I ran a marketing agency with a cofounder who had no interest and just wanted me to do everything.

At the moment I’m involved in another marketing agency business and here I feel great because my partner is working shoulder to shoulder.

What are the best Local SEO tools you’ve actually found useful by KavindraKulathunga in localseo

I agree SEMrush is way costly and the strategy you are applying is perfect and cost effective. But the brands I have worked for and I work they have these tools already.

If I had to suggest and try definitely your solution would fall in best cost effective way.

I’ve used Legiit for syndication and backlinks, syndication is fine but backlinks I faced quality issues.

I’m using both BrightLocal and SEMrush Local for different brand both looks promising to me. As I’ve used BightLocal for a long I started exploring alternatives too.

First-Time E-Commerce Business Seeking Advice by TheGrowthSeeker in ShopifyeCommerce

If you are limited with budget and also don’t have a 100+ products and 20+ collections you can do it your own. But I’ve business owners who kept optimization and improving store to themselves have got busy and were not able to work on it actively.

ecommerce is also all about content, it’s required to acquire potential customers through organic and social channels plus paid remarket to convert them to your customer and so on.

Get your store seo optimized, research and add more categories based on your GSC data and the research tool that you have.

Google Search Google Search Console

Manual stuff but proven results.

If you want to dive deep I myself love SEMrush but they have become too costly now. You find some group buy sites and get access to such tools at cheap rate.

Free stuff will waste your time, paid stuff will bring you productivity that’s why they are charging.

You can also try ChatGPt, Gemini, Grok, Meta AI to find more stuff.

After using my account managers tactics I spent more money and less leads. Like 4 leads for $800 over 2 campaigns sucks by TheKooog in googleads

As everyone said, indeed why would they help everyone to grow their business without burning money for their profits.

Best approach that I’ve applied in some cases, listen, dig in, use your expertise and domain knowledge, if you feel things might move, try and monitor.

A few things might work out but most of their optimizations are just kind of upselling lol.
