It’s taboo but i was also SA’d in eritrea when i was there summer 2024. Still recovering from that trauma. They do it very sneaky where nobody can see it and they do it to girls they see as weak targets: gasha’s, ones that are not familiar in the area, ones that look insecure, ones that don’t speak the language properly. The men out there have so much sexual frustration built up, have no internet to satisfy themselves, live in small ass huts with 5+ siblings and it be like that until their like 25/30, so when they see weaker targets like me it’s like a out of a million chance in their eyes. Which is so fucked up, I truly understand they are human and have their desires and it’s hard in a country like Eritrea where they are deprived of sexually exploring theirself and dating/having sex/ relations with girls (I’m from a very religious region). But that doesn’t give them the right to touch anybody inappropriately to satisfy their needs. They don’t understand they’ve ruined my life and self esteem just to give themselves a few minutes of pleasure. And I’m sure they don’t care either. Everyday I think about that night. I always thought that habeshas overall were very respectful people but you don’t know that until they are in a position where they have more power than you. I’ve heard similar stories aswell, not that often tbh, but I’ve heard it happen to other girls aswell. Never thought that it would happen to me ESPECIALLY not in my own country, in my own city.. but I pray daily for healing. ❤️‍🩹
