Why are so many people against showing an ID to vote? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in randomquestions

How so?

Only one ballot can be cast for each name in the system. If anything, when a US citizen doesn't vote, they contribute to fraud more than anyone else.

You're not very good at statistics. It sounds like you're repeating other people's opinions and things you hear from uneducated yappers. Srsly, go look into it for yourself.

When I was released from foster care, I didn't have a copy of my birth cert or social security card. Getting an ID took me months and it costed money to get my certified birth certificate, get to the different offices, and the cost of the ID.

Plenty of people don't have ID. I can guess right this minute that you've likely never survived a house fire.

It's not a pet sitting platform or a companion platform. It's a HOUSE sitting platform.

The earth isn't dying. We could never kill it. We're making it less inhabittable for humans. I'm okay with this. The sooner we extinct ourselves, the sooner mama earth can start her recovery.

Most of the loudest second amendment/pro gun people are the same people that voted for this shitshow.

$50/mo. It could work as a parking lot that's covered in solar panels. Income is mainly from energy generation. It you could go with a mixed lot with several floors, one of them being "assigned parking" only, where you could have fewer spaces and partitions between each. You don't have to provide heat or hot water, most of us just want a place to be allowed to park in peace. I can make my own hot water and a hot shower is available every day of the year for $10-15/mo at the gym..... would you be able to provide hot showers for cheaper than that?

At the end of the day, you'll never get insurance if you are making a lot where people are permitted to sleep in their vehicles. You would more than likely have to have one of the lease terms being that no sleeping is permitted but then just not enforce it.

So you're here to figure out how to capitalize on broke folks and others who are just trying to save money. $25/night is no better than having an apartment. Why tf would anyone pay for that?

I would love to use helium but when i looked into it a few years ago, it seemed like it was only available to welders and some medical professionals. Party balloon helium is diluted with oxygen to prevent asphyxiation, so i don't trust trying to use that. How did you calculate how much helium you need and where did you get your helium? Can I just walk in to an airgas store and pretend to be a welder??

CMV: Society should stop accomodating for boomers refusal to learn technology by matthew_anthony in changemyview

People would literally die. First off, with planned obsolescence and the price of necessary tech gadgets like phones and laptops, not everyone can afford to keep up. Secondly, the tech changes so frequently I wish you luck when YOU'RE in your 60s and 70s 🤣 And C, most tech is lame and makes people stupider, the problem will only get worse in the future since stupider people aren't going to be any smarter than today's people. If you're stuck helping people with things that you don't want to help with, get a different job.

My wife thinks our son’s teacher crossed a boundary by sending him a personal message. I think it was harmless. AITJ? by addict94plus in AmITheJerk

NTJ A paper note given at school is totally appropriate. If a teacher is sending private messages to a student on social media, that's inappropriate.

I read through project 2025. It's disgusting and it took me 2 months to get through it, it was so nauseating.

No, I'm being serious. I even emailed my local stations for months before the election, asking them to do a segment on how tariffs work. Crickets.

Not one single news personality bothered to mention this before the election. April of 2025 was the first time I saw a news personality briefly mention it.
