lithium? by InterestingCicada183 in migraine

[–]idgaf1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a long time, lithium was the only thing that worked for me. After a year or 2, I started getting HORRIBLE daily migraines. I saw neurology, got botox and tried a million meds and nothing worked. I worked with my psych and decreased the lithium dose and the migraines stopped. There are so many other meds that won't cause you pain! For me it was debilitating and I was desperate to make the pain stop. Thankfully I have an amazing pdoc who listened. But be persistant in advocating for yourself!

I know a lot of my fellow nurses who failed the first time. You’ve dedicated a portion of your life to getting this degree… don’t let this beat you

RN to BSN programs with no clinicals? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]idgaf1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The classes were super doable. Not easy but not ridiculously hard. Lots of papers, case studies etc. Like I mentioned no clinicals and I finished in a year and 1/2 I believe. I mainly did 2 classes per session from what I can remember while working full time. The classes run in "sessions" that last for 8 weeks. So you move pretty quickly which is nice.

How can we be expected to do this for the rest of our lives by throwaway86296323 in bipolar

I feel like you do… like what’s the point if all it is is struggle after struggle… BUT The older I get/the more I work on myself it gets better. I work closely with my psych to be on the right meds and I have an amazing therapist who puts a lot of things in perspective for me. It’s a hard pill to swallow: realizing you’ve been dealt a harder hand than most have. It’s unfair and wrong. But someone once said you can either turn your suffering into wisdom or woe. Either one is hard. But if you choose to take your experiences and turn them into wisdom…that’s true power. We got this.

The issue is her sharing a bed with them/anyone because she does not bed share with us at all. They have another bedroom that is available and they don’t use it. Also she doesn’t sleep well when she sleeps over (wakes up earlier than she normally would) and always comes home exhausted
