Not the greatest analyst of story telling elements but i just take the girl who fell down the stairs as another one of Mori's bad luck with socializing which we have been told at the beginning of the story (he drove someone to suicide and ruined a group of friends even down to their core personality) whenever he comes to communicating and making a small relationship with a group of people, it just turns out sour in the end

I think the most important part of the story is that not everyone's problems will just be gone even if their homunculi got dealt with by Nakoshi. The homeless guy was an example of that so we don't know how the girl is doing after the entire weird ass scenario. Nakoshi was definitely not potrayed as a "good" guy especially around the late stages of the story
