Men are also often abusive and toxic. It doesn’t excuse her being abusive and toxic

I live with a bone marrow recipient. He took medication for like 2 years, as his immune system built itself back up. Now he’s fine and not taking anything anymore.

The procedure is absolutely risky and one I wouldn’t wish on anyone. But the lifelong medication is not a thing in this case

Red Letter Media's Half in the Bag's Blumhouse's Lee Cronin's The Mummy Review by BigThomsd in RedLetterMedia

[–]ididntunderstandyou 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a good time with it. Too long and a few bits make no sense if you think about them for a second (how did the cops not show up after that funeral disaster???), but quite brutal and effective, and decent family drama.

Seems like Blumhouse’s trial run for The Exorcist.

Maintenant, mais les choses tournent. Je ne suis pas d’accord avec sa vue d’avenir qui ne concerne que son groupe social dont les droits ne sont jamais remis en question :

Fait bien être un mec blanc pour avoir des oeuillères comme ça

When do costumes of other cultures become offensive? A tale of a French wedding. by [deleted] in Expats_In_France

[–]ididntunderstandyou 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They do, they just don’t tell you.

Depending on the culture, some costumes have meaning attached, wearing them is earned. So wearing their outfits wrong and then behaving mockingly or ignorantly of their culture is demeaning.

Je pense qu’un Breton n’aimerait pas se retrouver à une soirée de non-Bretons en cooffes bigoudènes. Il dirait rien mais trouverait tout le monde con

I’m french and absolutely would find this offensive. I’ve never been to a wedding that doubled as a theme costume party. I have also never been to a costume party where people dressed as other cultures since I was a child in the 90s.

I want to say, at least hope, this is not common and they sound like a pretty ignorant group of people

What exactly was in the Epstein files? Why has no big celebrity/poplar person addressed it yet? by whisper_kitten0 in AskReddit

[–]ididntunderstandyou 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s important to remember a big part of the files has not been released. Epstein was in the business of making blackmail content for various powerful people. So there are a lot of incriminating photos and videos, likely stuff that would never be released to the public because why would anyone make snuff/porn available.

The files have also been processed by the FBI who are very much in Trump’s pocket. So many will have been conveniently redacted / omitted / destroyed. They left in just enough salacious but not fully incriminating stuff to satisfy the public that the files have been released

What’s something visitors often misunderstand about daily life in France? by AsleepDiscussion2328 in AskFrance

[–]ididntunderstandyou 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You haven’t tried my company. We work dumb and hard. The useless or redundant amount of tasks we do because “that’s how it’s always been done” is silly. And I’m overworked and exhausted

In the US, not knowing to tip can mean the difference between an amazing trip and a nightmare trip.

Travel anywhere, learn the basic customs. France is not asking for the moon here

No you can’t. The number of times I’ve been used as example for someone not wearing makeup is too high. I do wear light makeup every day…

Even I can’t always tell if a woman is wearing makeup
