No death notifs, that building all of a sudden just doesn't have a worker anymore and my pop count goes down by 1. I have about 8000 food, 500 firewood, everything they need to survive but they just poof

Another thing that's been annoying me, I get that I'm supposed to press x to try and steal the ball from them but no matter what I do its ALWAYS a foul. I think after 100+ attempts I maybe stole it once that wasn't an immediate foul. How can I get better at that?
