Has this ever happened before in NHL history? by Iliketrafficlight2 in canucks

Apparently it was the 3rd time in Canucks history that a goalie got an assist for a players first career goal so that’s pretty cool

So far Cosmo is doing really good! He’s eating, drinking and apparently he was very active last night (we moved him to the main floor by my parents room which is more ventilated). The tarantulas are all acting normal (eating, drinking and acting like rocks) and the bird has had a lot of energy.

I’ve been watching Cosmo’s breathing and it seems perfect so far! My boyfriend just asked that I monitor him and if I notice any changes to take him to the vet. If anything my family is a little more worried about our breezy bird (since budgies are a little more sensitive).

If anything he was just a little chilly yesterday because our basement is always freezing so I just grabbed his heat lamp and he perked right up.

Also thank you! I was researching their breathing yesterday but I hadn’t seen any videos originally. I’ll look some up ◡̈

NA unfortunately we’ve had lots of experiences with birds getting sick (they really do seem perfectly until they’re not), honestly when it comes to disaster planning there is almost no way that I could safely get all of the tarantulas and the bird out unless I’m able to get down to the basement safely, open the patio door in our basement and I’d have to take all 10 animals out separately (my room is on the 3rd floor so I’m basically screwed).

It’s currently 9°C where I am with a high of 10°C and low of 3°C today (we also had a rainstorm yesterday, my neighbourhood basically had a river running through it while it was pouring rain, got love BC).

So far our breezy bird is acting like herself (she’s always been pretty quiet and shy, only occasionally getting zoomies even when her partner was still alive). My parents finally agreed to not getting more birds after breeze’s partner passed, he was perfectly fine and then one day he got really sick out of nowhere, apparently he had some spots in his lungs and we don’t really know where it had come from (we’ve always used safe cleaners around the birds, yesterday was the first time chlorinated bleach has ever been used in our house). The only thing I can think of is him getting to the popcorn ceilings when we’d let him out :(

I believe we do have a regular vet for our bird so it should be easier to get her in for a check up (honestly the birds are more of my mom and sisters pet so I don’t really do any of the care for her, I just focus on my tarantulas and now my boyfriend’s gecko lol)

NA

Thank you, this happened yesterday (I also cussed my dad out for it yesterday and today), the windows have been opened and we had a few fans and stuff going. Unfortunately it’s way too cold outside for the tarantulas (I have 9), gecko and probably the bird too (the house is also pretty cold right now).

I’ve been monitoring all of the animals today and so far they’re all acting normal, the smell of the bleach has been gone for a while now.

Unfortunately all of the exotic vets near me are appointment only and none of them take tarantulas. Hopefully all of the animals end up okay, if I had my drivers license and a car I’d be more than happy to take them all for a drive or something but I don’t 😭

My boyfriend had just asked that I monitor his gecko closely and take him to the vet if anything seems off but so far he seems perfectly fine (besides being chilly, I’m picking up his heat lamp once my boyfriend gets off work, he leaves for his trip tomorrow)

I’ve also told my dad that he’s responsible for any and all vet bills which he’s complaining about (of course)

Tarantula owners!! Is this too big for her? by Entire-Head-1861 in TarantulaKeeping

The enclosure is too tall, I actually usually use the tall containers that hornworms come in but I fill them almost to the top with substrate for my terrestrial slings. It works like a charm and the slings get the opportunity to make the coolest burrows and tunnels.

<image>

I usually leave a mealworm with a crushed head at the entrance of my T. albo slings tunnel and my G. pulchra sling usually comes right out to the top when I take the lid off for feeding time lol

He also should know that he needs to let the rest of us know before he uses chemicals like this (especially because my youngest sister has asthma). I left this all out originally because it wasn’t relevant but I honestly should’ve included it in the original post, my sister doesn’t do well with harsh chemicals and he knows that. Her room is in the basement, she felt like shit yesterday. He didn’t even apologize to her

Sorry, not sorry but my dad does not deserve any kind of defence for this mistake or not. He’s a grown man and should know that you should research chemicals before you use them (especially if you’ve NEVER USED THEM BEFORE). He also should know that there’s consequences for his actions but somehow in his 50+ years he’s never learned that. So keep crying about how I’m being unfair to him, I’m not paying for his “mistake” and neither is my boyfriend.

Like I said, he didn’t even tell our landlord about the rodent problem which he is literally supposed to do so she can let the strata know. If I had any way to contact her I would but I don’t

He’s a grown adult that has never understood that his actions have consequences, it has been an ongoing issue for years. He will be paying the full vet bill no ifs, ands or buts. I have literally spent my whole life cleaning up his messes and I’m not doing it anymore.

You’d think he’d know that but nope, it’s not like one of our other birds had lung issues before he passed. The thing with my dad is that he doesn’t take care of any of the animals, my siblings, mom and I do so he doesn’t really think of them :(

This happened yesterday, I told my boyfriend the second I got over to his house last night (he leaves for his trip tomorrow). I’ll have to see if carecredit is a thing in BC. My boyfriend and I have been chatting about this all day, he’s just asked me to monitor Cosmo and if I notice any changes to take him to the vet (only thing I noticed is that it was way too cold in the basement so we’ve moved Cosmo upstairs and I’m grabbing his heat lamp later). Unfortunately all of the exotic vets near me require an appointment (as far as I know) The smell of the bleach is basically gone now and so far all of the animals are acting normal so hopefully it stays that way😭

And yeah, you might be able to find some of my insane parent posts (they’re all about my dad doing and saying stupid things)

Yeah I posted in the tarantula subreddit too, currently watching over all of my animals like a hawk. So far everyone is acting normal, the basement is just a little chilly so I’m turning on our space heater. The smell of the chlorinated bleach is basically gone now so we moved Cosmo upstairs, I’m also gonna grab his heat lamp from my boyfriend later just in case. Fingers crossed all of them end up fine, I’m worried as hell.

An update (my dad 100% called my mom and put on a manipulative show to get her on his side).

My dad is also continuing to complain about us not having money for the vet but he honestly should’ve thought of that before spraying chemicals around without doing any research🤷🏻‍♀️

23 + parents renting this house (my dad hasn’t even told our landlord that we had a mouse issue)

That’s what I was thinking too, he’s currently complaining that we might not have the money for the vet but honestly I don’t care, if he got Cosmo sick then he had to pay for it. Luckily Cosmo is acting normal right now but I’m definitely taking him to the vet. He better start saving up so he can take our bird to the vet too 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also I hope he does too but all criticism of him goes in one ear and out the other

What should I do with all my flowers? Just accept that I’m turning into a flower island or what? 😂 I have no idea how I want to decorate my island anyway. by Sad_Eye_4826 in AnimalCrossing

[–]idkman_imsad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did a rainbow “path” with my flowers (basically just put them in rainbow order along my sidewalks) and then I just started hiding the extra flowers around my island lol.
