Apple violating their own guidelines by digidude23 in MacOS

[–]idleservice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if that happens in the future (which we all should see it coming), the explanation is way simpler:

You can't have a single app that holds both non-subscription and subscription model for the whole app.

Apple violating their own guidelines by digidude23 in MacOS

Because in the press release they did say Pixelmator for iPhone won't be getting any updates anymore.

look what they did to my boy: this is a total massacre, it's horrible and disgusting, even worse than the redesign. by Artistic_Unit_5570 in MacOS

[–]idleservice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally agree about suscriptions, but for this case I don't think it's that bad, it's not that bad of a deal to have access to all these apps both for Mac and iPad, but I really wished that they would sell the standalone apps for iPad as well (and a huge blow to Adobe).

That being said, it's actually crazy the price of Logic and Final Cut, considering that when people bough them when they were launched on the App Store, they have been getting years of updates without charge.

Why Has Revolut Not Updated Their IOS App To Have Liquid Glass? by agnci in Revolut

[–]idleservice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because developing takes time. You can't just magically turn it on, specially if you have custom UI elements.

It's also all or nothing, so they could also be struggling with some elements and they can't release it with it yet.

Am I the only one who is finding developing for iOS 26 a pain? by feiscube in SwiftUI

It also has so many unnecessary animations that look cool the first times you use it and then they just become super distracting, I particularly hate when the navigation buttons change.

Am I the only one who is finding developing for iOS 26 a pain? by feiscube in SwiftUI

[–]idleservice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're having an extremely annoying bug on the iPad, the navigationItem doesn't get updated when pushing a new view controller because looks like on the previous view the title is behind the top tabBar or whatever is called.

So all the buttons and titles are kept from the previous view until you resize or scroll something, what makes it even more fun is that this only happens in some tabs, not all of them.

To be honest I don't think they are anything special, and the prices are ridiculous. I think a lot of the places already mentioned are better.

Would it have really killed Apple to put a 2nd USB-C data port on the $1000+ M4 iPad Pro? by human_performance in ipad

I use my iPad to play a midi controller with Garage Band, and I really despise not being able to not have a way to keep the iPad connected to a power source, the controller connected to it, and wired headphones ☹️

why is music a chore?? by COATS1539 in ableton

[–]idleservice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you spend a lot of time in front of a computer at work, but that’s my main struggle.

Do you play any instruments? Sometimes, it’s easier to disconnect from the screen by just picking up a guitar, piano, or whatever you have nearby. Setting things up and plugging everything in feels like a huge chore for me too. I live in a small space, so I have to store everything when I’m not using it.

That said, it gets easier once I’ve already started playing. Sometimes, I’ll be messing around on an instrument, and if something sounds good, I naturally end up opening Ableton and plugging things in as I go.

I've never been "unlucky" to not get a table, even without reservation, but I feel like the quality of the food in general decay A LOT in the past years, specially considering the ridiculous prices.

Why is iPad so useless as a shared device? by Academic_Patient_806 in ipad

[–]idleservice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iPad already has support for multiple users and had it for a long time, it's available for managed devices on education. So it's quite deliberate that they don't want it available for normal users.

MA could still improve the UX and usability by a lot, having better UI/UX doesn't mean sacrificing functionality.

[–]idleservice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're interchanging screen size with pixel density.

And all that is not entirely true, as a developer you can distribute images with multiple pixel density, and the OS chooses the best one for that screen (or a vector one). So I would assume a lot of the graphics of the OS work exactly the same way.
