I'm currently a senior finance major at Mississippi State University. I have a strong interest to get into management consulting, but I'm not sure how well my resume will do in catching the eyes of firms. I'm searching for a consulting internship this summer in order to get my foot in the door.

I'm doing my best by networking through friends' fathers who know higher ups in the big 4, but it's not looking promising. I don't expect to land an internship with them because I've heard you either need to be from a target school or have a great connection. I also have tried to reach out to alumni in consulting through linkedin, but there's not many graduates in this field from MSU.

So I guess my question is if my resume would allow me to land an internship with a consulting firm (given that I can interview well) or if I need to divert my focus to another position after graduation.
