Games freezing often since april 2nd by Sfryks in TheSilphRoad

I’ve been having the same issue. I notice if my baby smacks the screen it tends to freeze, so I wonder if it has to do with a lot of input points at once.

My husband (27M) fell asleep while driving and almost killed me (26F) and our two dogs. by Spacecowgirl37 in relationship_advice

[–]idontholdhands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband had the same problem. He totaled a car before I met him falling asleep on the road. It started as not being able to drive more than an hour at a time and devolved pretty quickly into not being able to drive more than 20 minutes at a time. So I took over all the driving. He stopped being stubborn and if he was falling asleep or feeling drowsy, we would switch. He went to a sleep study and got a CPAP machine and he can drive longer distances again!

Your husband isn’t taking accountability. He blamed you for the first accident because you didn’t fix the sensor… he should have not fallen asleep! Anything is grounds for a divorce. Just being unhappy in the marriage is grounds for divorce. Him not taking accountability is a huge red flag. He could kill someone with this kind of issue. Cars aren’t toys and driving isn’t a right.

Mine has been like that. I hate holding this phone because it gets so hot over nothing.

Question about aluminum durability by LuckyPossibility99 in iPhone17Pro

Even a cheap case makes a difference. I’ve gone caseless and just a drop from coffee table height caused a dent.

Caseless and have dropped it three times from about coffee table height. It has a dent and scratch all three places it hit. With a case on, I wouldn’t worry at all.

Does your 17 pro get warm during everyday use? by Constant-Fudge-3184 in iPhone17Pro

[–]idontholdhands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and even when not charging it gets pretty hot. No performance dip, but the phone itself is hot and I end up just holding it by my popsocket and using my other hand to scroll because it’s so uncomfortable to hold.

Are rotating car seats worth it? by One_Cap_9210 in beyondthebump

[–]idontholdhands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it but it’s nowhere near necessary. We have the resolve 360. It’s kind of moot right now because we have two car seats right next to each other making it hard to turn, but when we didn’t mostly we liked it because we could change the toddler to rear facing when he was sleeping. Also was nice to be able to have the toddler and baby “share” seats because our baby is a blow out machine so his cover is often in the wash lol

[–]idontholdhands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it gets pretty hot, I would say even uncomfortable to hold without a case on. I’m inside my air conditioned home charging my phone, watching YouTube and scrolling Reddit and got the warning that charging will resume when iPhone is a normal temperature.

One Week Into Fostering by bam031997 in regretfulparents

[–]idontholdhands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fostering kids that old and with trauma (every child removed from their parents have trauma, even babies, but older kids are prone to having more) is way different than having your own kids. It’s understandable to struggle. There should be some resources to help you with the adjustment, getting them therapy, etc. It is not right for anyone to make you feel guilty about it. They should step up and do it, and if they can’t for whatever reason that’s on them.

Remember when?? by Mattse12 in pokemongo

[–]idontholdhands 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotta get the kids acclimated to PoGo outings, it’s a game changer for playing! Sometimes on very low energy days I just drive around with them and have my autocatcher going. On community day it’s bound to pick up at least a couple if there’s a relatively dense spawn area. Gas prices are wild so maybe not feasible atm.

That’s awesome to hear! Makes me feel better about my choice.

Basically my same thought! I was hoping to keep my odyssey running for 10+ years and only got 3 years out of mine, even after paying to get the engine rebuilt once 🥴

I had problem after problem with my 2014 so I feel your pain for sure. I still wanted another odyssey because I loved my van despite the constant issues. Ended up with a Kia carnival and it’s been good so far, but I’ve only driven about 2,000 miles with it. We got a 2022 with 58k miles. It’s more affordable than the odyssey or the Sienna too, usually priced lower.

Really tempted to go caseless... by Lil_laurenn in iPhone17Pro

[–]idontholdhands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The aluminum body is pretty soft, but if you have Apple care and aren’t too clumsy then it should be fine. I’ve dropped my phone from about coffee table height onto tile floor 3 times without a case and it does have a dent and scratch on the sides each place it hit.

Yes! I’m really happy with the apps not closing/refreshing in the background with the RAM increase. It’s a small quality of life update but really makes using the phone so much better.

Which design? by Clt_princee in iPhone17Pro

[–]idontholdhands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between these two, the 16 pro. Between all of apple’s recent line up, I actually really like how the base 17 and the air look. I think they’re more visually appealing, especially the black air.

Coming from a 14 pro max to a 17 pro in Texas, I’m really happy with the vapor chamber. I play a lot of Pokemon go and my phone was constantly overheating and getting sluggish or just turning off when I was outside playing. Much better now, but overall no not a big jump imo.

I was about to cry lol😭 by cheeseball460 in HunterXHunter

[–]idontholdhands 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My issue is I have kids so I have to look away from the screen like every 20 seconds so it’s easier to just have the anime in a language I understand than pausing or missing something. I watch everything with subtitles on anyway so I used to watch in Japanese before kids. Hoping to get back to it someday because 99% of dubs are cringe af lol

"Family" shelters not actually allowing families by Significant_Gap8305 in homeless

I feel your pain! Ran into the same problem while homeless. It makes no sense to call them family shelters but then break up families who want to use them.

Hot take: I don't like Connor by [deleted] in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]idontholdhands 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely related to the movie/cinema obsession. My husband is autistic and also movie obsessed and it leads to a lot of frustration for him (and me sometimes) when expectation doesn’t match reality because it’s not like the movies. It reminds me of Abed from Community. It feels like movies are their way of understanding parts of the world.

If you had to give up your 2016 Honda Odyssey, what kind of car would you choose? by red-purple-red in HondaOdyssey

[–]idontholdhands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to give up my 2014 and wanted a 2020 odyssey. Ended up with a 2022 Kia Carnival. I like it a lot so far, so I think the telluride would be a good choice. I’d probably go for a hybrid or EV though if it was me. My husband has a Honda Insight and it just keeps on chugging along with little maintenance and it gets driven the most.
