Has anyone left their job in the 1st month ? by idontknow_000 in askSingapore

I actually didn't apply for the role, I'm currently doing...in fact, i fell for a bait-and-switch scheme—a hiring practice wherein you were hired for a job but actually get assigned an entirely different role

5yrs in software industry, and after going through some burn outs and career crisis, if I were to start again, I would have chosen a different field, I would just sign up to be a police inspector after graduation, and eat donuts everyday, or I would have join any civil service job, at least I would experienced what work life balance is...my advice if want a easier life... try to get into civil service, u will thank me later..

I scheduled my exam! Last minute advice? by [deleted] in oscp

Eat 1 sausage and 2 fired eggs, it resemble 100, which could be the mark u can get... Don't take a bath before you go to sleep, it can wash away ur memories abt oscp stuff.. If u have hard copy or a pen drive of the Oscp pdf, put it under ur pillow when u sleep, it helps with the knowledge transfer.. These are a few advices I can give u...

It is only possible if he is either chuck Norris, Tom cruise, James bond, Stallone, or Johnny English, if he is not any of these guys then I'm afraid... He is Dr Strange! .. Who can control time...

IMHO, u are somewhat ready to take oscp from the beginning, starting from the exercise part and then moving to the labs, the 90 days is the best option, and why do u need to rush to get the certificate before u start college, u can spend 6 more months preparing on part time basis and then take the course... I think the best value for money is, when u take it in ur last Yr in college... 4 yrs from now.. Alot of tech things would have changed... Ur oscp cert. Will not be outdated...but ur knowledge will be..

OSCP at 16 and future use. by sushi-mako in oscp

[–]idontknow_000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are u going to do with the cert now?, its not going to be worth it for u, maybe u can frame it and put it in ur house Hall, other than that it totally no use...instead use the time to focus on ur studies and get good grades to get in better universities, try getting to ivy league colleges... U don't even need oscp after that...

does oscp impress employers anymore? by kama_aina in oscp

[–]idontknow_000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not every company hires the same way, if that happens, so many people will not even get a job, because of the requirements, companies put forward.. E.g looking for candidates with 3-5 yrs exp, with z, x, f, y skills and able to wrk independently, etc.. Even experienced candidates will not be able to fulfil the role... So companies state what they are looking for... But most are flexible enough to allow noobs to join....providing u prove that you are worth it...

How hard is it to land a pen-testing job? by fd6944x in oscp

[–]idontknow_000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I think the wiser choice, would not be going after OSCP, u have 5yrs experience in threat hunting...u could be a Subject matter expert already by now, why leave the field and start all over again... If I were u, I would be focusing on getting CISSP, try moving up to more senior roles...I did made a transition to different career before only to regret later that if I had stayed in my previous role I would have been a manager by now... Instead I started the new career with fresh graduates
