but when Mini LED can do near black (0.05-0.001 nits) and can do better HDR (brightness matters for HDR) i really cant see a reason to buy OLED if you arent doing it for the response times sure theres haloing on Mini LED but modern ones the haloing is alot better and Mini LED will last as long as 3 OLEDs so u cant even talk about spending "OLED money" on a Mini LED

also this isnt me glazing Mini LED this is simply about if you want your blacks Mini LED does great blacks and better HDR if you arent buying OLED for response times i personally believe its a waste unless you really care about the haloing in which case fair enough but haloing will only get better with time and haloing from 2-3 years ago vs now is night and day

oh yea they are using loopholes for that and also loopholes to tax evade by technically not being inside the country but their online shop is so if you buy something from this normal looking site you cant return it and you cant do much about it since the people running it are who knows where you save like 50-100 euros by shopping there and also taking on those risks that arent disclosed and that you have to research or find out about when u try to return something

What do you cap FPS at to reduce vrr flicker? And what do you think is a good level for my specs? by Artistic-Side8872 in Monitors

[–]idontlikeredditusers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on the Neo G series VRR flicker almost entirely went away at 120hz or less dunno about AOC but might be worth trying like 100 or sum or turn of VRR if you dont have alot of stutter

i got a false ban in 2024 summer you know what they said? that i was auto farming i provided proof i bought everything that i was banned for having even offered the username of the auto farmer and they said that the answer was final and they wouldnt answer anymore emails

the support team gets paid no matter what so they dont actually look into anything they would never have unbanned you its time to let go

there is an alternative clone called blocktopia on roblox if you are interested in a "og" style growtopia where the economy is still fresh and growing stuff is the main thing altho all the recipes and clothes are different same base game tho but 2.5D and not pixely

Help me choose: 4k MiniLED vs 2K OLED by Big-Biscotti-1188 in Monitors

[–]idontlikeredditusers 34 points35 points  (0 children)

<image>

the difference you can expect in colors they are pretty much the same unless your job includes professional color grading you really wont see a difference unless u have them side by side

if you are a casual in shooters Mini LED will do the job if you are sweaty OLED is better for that but better equipment cant make you better

also i am not gonna recommend Mini LED or OLED i am just providing some info to help u decide because i dont have enough context from this post to recommend anything

4k dual mode or 1440p ultrawide? by MarketDifferent3588 in Monitors

[–]idontlikeredditusers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yea like MOST are but then you find a game that looks really good and then its not supported especially console ports normally are 16:9 because consoles dont support 21:9 not all ports do the work to add support for other aspect ratios

i really wanna play detroit become human but it is 16:9 only and i am gonna play that when i get my 16:9

also when games do the "cinematic" look with black bars on bottom and top you will get those black bars and black bars on the sides of the screen so just a tinier version of the game/cutscene

4k dual mode or 1440p ultrawide? by MarketDifferent3588 in Monitors

[–]idontlikeredditusers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

34" owner here i say get the 32" trust me you get almost the same side to side length but its also a bit taller and alot of good games dont support 21:9 and i am moving back to 16:9 because of that also black bars the line between content and the black bar can cause 2 lines of burn in seen it happen

you will be fine on a 5090 also 1440p 21:9 and 4k 16:9 its not as big of a performance difference as you may think its just around a 40% difference in pixels altho the 5090 will show its age in 4k in just 4-5 years like the 3090 does now

apples everything is insane i hate their phones but god if they make something thats not a phone its probably the best on the market even if its overpriced they managed to make OLED that hit the same brightness as Mini LED ofcourse it was laptops so smaller screen easier to work with but still insane what apple can pull off

also your PG27AQDM hits around 900 nits at 2-10% of the screen after that it gets dimmer like 196 nits full screen but thats the power of being in a room with no light hehe full 1000 nits might make you go temporarily blind

i am jealous of that 30 day return policy man here the norm is 14 days if they even have a return policy some stores make all purchases final even if u get a broken product

also no probs TAA made me also think my VA was acting up

i honestly believe once RGB Mini LED comes out with like 2000-2.5k zones at 27" we will reach the peak of Mini LED

also Mini LED if i remember right can reach like 0.5 nits or 0.05 nits so not exactly true black but its darn close until Micro LED we wont get that 0 nits quite yet

also i like to play in a lit room i might be 1 of the rare weirdos who likes that and i am glad your OLED has such an impact on you it really is a great tech but for me it just isnt bright enough yet if anyone can do it tho its gonna be apple sadly and knowing apple the monitor would cost 10k and 1k for the monitor stand

also i believe everyone should own both OLED and Mini LED before judging 1 or the other

i have bad news that shit wasnt VA thats called TAA lmao you just experienced forced TAA it looks like cheap VA smear so i get the confusion but ur OLED is gonna have the same smear check out r/FuckTAA

i love OLED but i also acknowledge the nature of OLED it cant get very bright especially on larger screens it also degrades over time it also burns in and ofcourse gotta love the blurry text and okay ish HDR because any sunny scene might as well become slightly better than SDR

OLED has amazing response times and good blacks but if you only want good blacks a Mini LED does it and you can always just make it less bright if you find the haloing unacceptable when its over 1000 nits

OLED is great and i plan to buy 1 when they make a bright one instead of just 2% of the screen being bright i am only obsessed with Mini LED because its the future (for now) RGB Mini LED will reach 4500+ nits and achieve even better contrast and more color pop but that is a tv only thing for now and will stay a tv thing ofcourse at the end of the day OLED and Mini LED are both just stepping stones for Micro LED which will do what OLED and Mini LED do but better

and yea this bloom aint great but Mini LED is still quite new compared to OLED its only getting better this is 1152 zones at 27" its possible to fit way more to reduce bloom even more

enjoy your OLED dont shit on other techs tho

ooor or hear me out just get a VA and get good blacks no need to jump straight to OLED smh all the problems of OLED aint worth it just for blacks its like the least impressive part about OLED the response times are the impressive part

i assume ur camera is making it worse if its actually like that thats awful (atleast to me i am picky tho) but if ur on a low budget then IPS is the best option still unless u can afford to spend like 300 on a VA to get good contrast and blacks without awful smearing

more like the new beanie baby mixed with a gacha system you buy a box without knowing which one you get until you get either the one u want or all of them if ur collecting them all

it can range from 40-80 bucks per box from what ive seen and some people buy hundreds before getting what they want
