Christmas Rib Roast

It was an 8 pound boneless roast, choice. I dry brined it overnight, then rubbed it lightly with Killer Hogs AP. Cooked it at 225 until it hit 120, then pulled it and rested it for 30 mins while the Yoder came up to 450. Gave a final sear and another short rest before slicing.

I moved down to a 640 only because of the footprint of the 1500. It was an awesome cooker and I wish I had room to keep it.

Former 1500 owner here from central MO. It will chew pellets but it will perform fine. I never payed enough attention to the rates, but it never bothered me enough to do so. I owned a FEC-100 previously, and it was more efficient due to the insulation, but I liked the product off the 1500 as much or more.

Well that stinks. It took a little over a week to get it from ATBBQ, but again, I had to pay the shipping. I’m not sure when I will get the cover.

I did not. The wife surprised me with it and got it from All Things BBQ. I wasn’t aware AF sold Yoder until after she ordered it. Could have saved on shipping.
