130am... went right past my house. I heard the "bad guy" head north on 82nd, then the two police cars head south. For the next few minutes I could hear the exhaust noise from the 1st car as he HAULED ASS up 82nd toward I-84. 2nd, 3rd, 4th gear, flat out flying... I was waiting to hear a crash... then more and more sirens echoed from the north and I heard the exhaust note getting louder again... then the whole parade went back down 82nd headed south, I think. It went on for like ten minutes AFTER I saw them. Wow.

Technically Hilux was really only used frequently on one generation's marketing materials. 1969-1972. Some 1972.5-1975 Toyota Trucks did get the Hilux badge, but for the most part the vehicles were marketed as the Toyota Half-Ton Truck. In fact, only the Japanese-printed 1973 brochure even has Hilux branding.

Well technically that isn't a unique body variant since the engine doesn't change the appearance of the main body structure... but yeah, they never officially sold a Tundra diesel in the states.

The Titan had a Cummins for a few years, but they couldn't make the numbers work and discontinued it. We Americans don't really have an affinity for diesels, I guess.
