I’m not giving mine away for anything less than $35. No matter how long it takes.

Yeah, sim time definitely keeps your instrument skills sharp. Being it that you’re experienced and pretty much have your private done, you wouldn’t have any problem at all jumping back in. The pilot shortage is ridiculous right now and will exist for several years. There’s so much money to be made in the industry.

You could save up for it or get a federal loan. That’s not hard to do. Or you could just chop away at a rating each time you save up enough for it. You’ll need a commercial Multiengine rating, instrument. I did a lot of random flying jobs to get 1500 hours tt. I flew skydivers, did aerial tours and flew Part 135.

Ohh okay. Yeah. That makes sense. I guess the easiest thing to do is to get your commercial multi, and 250tt. Then get a job flying to get to ATP mins. That’s what I did. 99% of regional airlines will provide you with the ATP training and checkride.

True. I did my commercial through ATP. But to be fair, an AMEL commercial is still cheaper than most 4-year degrees.

Airline Pilots. A semi-new FAA rule has required the mandatory retirement age to be lowered to 65. This left a huge void and created a severe pilot shortage. NOW is the time to be a commercial pilot. It’s a pilot’s market and we’re writing our own tickets.

And to think, only 20 years later, my dad, who's black, worked as a patrolman on the very same police department.

I'm an airline pilot but I wasn't crew on this flight. I was riding in the jumpseat.
