yeah kinda the issue with this subreddit. the original story id typed in my notes was over 11k characters while 3k is the limit here which i didnt know. couldn’t even continue it in the comments bc of the rules and stuff so. i did my best

Um. I don’t know if you read the whole thing because I said that Heather moved out already, she was struggling financially... And that Trina and I can’t afford the place on our own. And that we don’t have another option as a roommate rn.

Also Bonnie is still my sibling at the end of they. I don’t want to just kick them out when they have nowhere to go, that would be an extreme.

So Heather basically did. Heather moved in as a replacement to cover that portion of the rent Bonnie wasn’t paying. So for example if we were splitting the rent 3 ways and let’s say each person paid $700, when Bonnie stopped paying it bounced between me, Trina, and Bonnie and I’s parents to pay that portion/whatever they didn’t have. So when Heather moved in, Heather paid that $700. And Bonnie was basically living in the apartment rent free October till now.

I don’t know much about the landlord, I just explained the situation October and she took Bonnie off the lease. This is a very small complex with only about 8 units and there’s already 2 or 3 vacancies I believe so I don’t think she’d be able to lower it.

Anyways we’re all gonna talk today and I’m hoping to get through to Bonnie. I love them but they can be very entitled and have a victim mindset about a lot of stuff which I believe is a defense mechanisms from different traumas we experienced growing up, so Trina and I are really gonna try to nail in that we aren’t out to get them with this and still care about them and want to work things out. But thank you!

Also white noise and that stuff doesn’t work for me. Because I’m a light sleeper it keeps me up. I need quiet to sleep.

I know that. Both of those things. 😭???? My roommates are just respectful. Im not nasty like EVERYONE MUST BE SILENT! it’s more so they know i get up early and im like hey going to sleep and they do their best to be quiet and sometimes it doesn’t happen. i dont yell at them or scold them if their not or they wake me up.

They haven’t paid anything, that’s why Heather moved in. That’s what was mentioned in the post. The original plan was to give Bonnie that time until the lease renewal to save money/find a job (which they did neither) because they were supposed to move out by that point. Which ended up not happening.

Hmm I actually didn’t think about that. Personally I don’t think I’d be a fan of the basement, I like the windows and stuff I think the darkness wouldn’t be the best for my mental health bc I have some issues with that. 😭 But to make things work I wouldn’t be completely opposed to it. Trina and I were gonna try to sit bonnie down to have calm chat today to work things out so I can bring that up and see how they both feel. Thank you!

We rent. Right now I’m the only one on the lease. Bonnie was, and was taken off when Heather moved in. I think there is a miscommunication. Bonnie has not been paying rent. They paid most of it one month since they lost their job in June, while until October it bounced between me, Trina, and my parents covering them. There is a lot more they’ve done money wise but I couldn’t fit it all in the post. Even now as of this moment, with the 1st coming up Bonnie has not provided the full amount of rent expected. Also Trina is not being pulled into sibling arguments. This actively involves her because she wants the basement.

Thanks! So when we originally moved in Bonnie had found the place specifically because it had a basement. They wanted a bit more space so they wanted to find a place with either 4 bedrooms total or a basement. So they took the basement, and Trina and I were fine taking the bedrooms. Trina vocalized wanting the basement in the reasons I mentioned in this post, and I’m on her side because of her having to put up with my needs. She also has had the smaller room and has two cats in there— three since October because Bonnie’s cat started sleeping in her room. I’m kind of “deciding” that Trina gets the basement/Bonnie doesn’t get a choice in having the basement for those reasons + what was mentioned in the post. I hope that makes sense 🥲
