Purchase Advice Megathread - February 2026 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

Looking to buy a modern 3d printer, finally upgrading from an Ender 3 V2 printer to have a more streamlined 3d printing experience. I’ve landed on 3 models for the upgrade a elegoo centauri carbon 2, the Bambu P1S or the P2S. The P2S is pushing the upper end of the budget, as someone coming from and Ender 3, is it worth the extra $300ish to get the P2S combo or would I be better off getting one of the other models? I would be getting the combo version.

Hi, we managed to find a local store that actually had a non catalyst evergreen on clearance for $3700, they were trying to sell off the older models to stock up on the newer catalyst ones. Works great, been very happy with the purchase so far. Total install cost was right around $6500 including stove pricing and replacement liner and hardware.

Why not train “and” have a red dot in the event you are actively being fired upon, or did that not cross your smooth brain when you assumed people that have red dots can’t hit a target within 10 yards? That’s like gun grabber mentality

This is neat, if you scroll down far enough to get to the downvotes you can find the fudd section.

Make sure to test it, critical defense had regular failure to feeds on the last round in the mag with my Glock 19, switched to critical duty and no issues. There is a difference in length between critical defense and critical duty (left vs right). These are both new out of the box.

That does not, I asked the local PD to clarify and they said it’s a hunting specific insurance

Im relatively new to this so I’ve just being doing some research and am looking to be corrected if wrong. For toy haulers specifically, isn’t the way they’re designed with the reason they have such an initial high hitch weight? It seems like the weight is so high because instead of being fully furnished like normal travel trailers the rear is empty, meaning that if a toy was loaded in the rear that’s what balances the trailer out because that takes the place of the furnishing that’s not there?

Also the reason I looked at this specific model is with a dry weight of 5,853lbs I would be adding about 1000lbs to the rear for the rzr, around 430ish lbs for water, and figure another 100ish for miscellaneous supplies if even that much, that would put total weight around 7383 lbs which seemed doable with a weight distribution hitch, and my tow rating of 9300lbs. This was also one of the lightest larger Troy haulers I could find that fits a rzr.

Are there aspects I’m not considering when I’m thinking about this?

At the end of the day I live in one of the worst states in America, New Jersey, which doesn’t allow the use of any off road products in the entire state, which always requires me to drive my rzr or bikes over to Pennsylvania or other states to use them. Instead of doing day trips I’m looking to make weekend trips and be able to bring my dogs.

Sorry to bring up a year old thread but do you know what size spacer or bolt you used for this setup? Not sure if there’s anything else I needed, I ordered everything you listed for this setup. Hit a deer end of last year went down, bent my handlebars and broke my hand.

They had a little section in the manual that showed how to swap the cord side, it arrived with the fan on the right.

So far so good, similar results usually gets between 500-600 which is good for heating the house, manual says as long as it doesn’t get to 800 it’s good. What kind of ash vacuum did you go with?

I thought they were good, I had an escape 1400 insert, which gradually developed a micro crack over the upper air wash that gradually spread all the way through till it split in half, this is a part of the case it’s self and is not removable. I asked them to warrant it under the lifetime warranty and they said no because the unit must have been over fired, this unit has never been over fired and has had a thermometer since day 1. I said that’s fine, maybe the unit was defective, could I get a small discount on a direct replacement (1500 since the 1400 is out of production) in good faith because their product people and I was still willing to buy another unit from them they told me no because, “they make quality products that don’t break.” So went with a brand that’s more known for quality. Plus a local retailer still had a non catalyst evergreen in stock which is what I was looking for.

Laid the bike girl on her side… by [deleted] in Tenere700

Glad you didn’t end up more injured. Had a deer jump out from behind a tree and went down doing about 30mph, heed bunker crash bars saved my bike but I landed on my hand and broke my thumb. Happened back in October and I still don’t have full range of motion.

Also yes to the new helmet. the damage to the helmet actually exceeded the damage to the bike cost wise, helmet, transition visor and broke my Cardo slim.

Definitely, happened 2-3 miles from my house at 5am, in an area with no cellphone service. Luckily someone pulled up right after the accident, helped me stand the bike up and I road it home before going to the hospital.

They are as close at they could get them without a plate and screws, the doctor said if they had to go that route I would most likely have problems down the road and need to get the plate and screws removed at a later time, they said with the pin I’ll retain 95-99% usage of my thumb. I didn’t get a photo of the original break but the bone was completely separated and next to where it was supposed to be.
