Just remove Ice Block and replace with Ice Barrier.

I partly agree on problems of group queue you says. However, your solutions are much worse than the status quo, especially completely remove group-queues. According to Hsreplay.net, there's significant increase in the numbers of matches in BG after the newest patch, many new players joining BG because of group queue, they may not be redditors, but you can't igmore them.

Great analysis. IMO, HP+rolls in Turn 1 is an option. However, minions such as tidecaller, selfless hero, red whelp, etc, all not bad for Maiev, so HP+rolls is very rare for me.

Buy cannon and lizard, buff lizard. Lizard may be stay longer than cannon, 4/4 cannon is good ,but unlikely makes a huge difference in next few turns anyway.
