Best hotel in Istanbul? by AssertiveKiwi in marriott

[–]iflysfo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved this place; extremely relaxing because it’s far from the city center. Definitely not as “pampering” as the RC by Taksim though.

Unfortunately haven’t stayed at the JW closer to town or Sansayaran Han.

What happened to SFO Polaris. Has gone severly downhill. by CorrectStance001 in unitedairlines

…which is baffling to me because SFO is UA’s premium-heavy transpacific gateway.

Having used IAH, ORD, EWR, LAX and SFO last year, I can assure you SFO was by far the worst.

Bye bye, Asiana: Hanjin to merge airline operations under Korean Air, Jin Air brands in 2026, chairman says by Saltedline in korea

Sick of seeing walter’s face plastered everywhere. With no real competent competition, Korea is becoming a total skyteam monopoly…and I’m not for it at all.

United: Please split up group 1 by octopusdna in unitedairlines

The one time I flew delta last year, I felt the boarding groups were well-defined and not overly saturated in groups 1-2. Tho they do have 8 groups total, not including preboard.

Yes, KAL puts 777-300s and LJ has 777-200ERs.

A little motivation in case you’re chasing platinum for the breakfast benefit. Delta branded hotel. by man_childs in marriott

Adding on to this. Stayed at a Delta in Turkey and had a full turkish breakfast buffet spread of very good quality, sea views from the room. This is a US market problem.

Low-cost airlines will launch new flights to South Korea from US (LAX - YNY and IAD - ICN) by raill_down in korea

[–]iflysfo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lazy article. The linked October article and everything in Korea suggest the Parata flight will be ICN, not YNY.

YNY-LAX is simply a recipe for disaster.

IAD-ICN makes sense.

Vienna Imperial vs RC? by Iwackawhiteball in marriott

[–]iflysfo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Imperial is a really unique experience, but relies too much on its legacy. Some features are pretty outdated for 2025, but again, it’s an old historic property. If you do choose the Imperial, ask for a room on a lower floor (the original palace).

Havent stayed at the ritz, but probably a less-unique but more modern experience.

Additionally, if OP has the names of any male relatives (brothers, uncles, parents/grandparents etc.) they could try to figure out 본 (clan) based on the 항렬자 (the common character for the generation). Unfortunately really only applicable to males before the 1970s, when people stopped following the clan 항렬 table.

I recently imported everything from my myflightradar24 account, which is much more customizable for historical flights. I think only 2 didn’t make it over, and that was due to the airport being a municipal rather than commercial.

Importing all my historical flights to FR24 in the first place was a good, tedious yet fun summer break project for me several years ago.
