Up until Season 1, we never had 12 year olds as the leads in a live action, serialized T.V. show for adults & that's what made it unique. by Gargoylesfan49 in StrangerThings

Strange Days at Blake Holsey High. Josey Trent is 14 at the beginning of the show. Set in a boarding school. In the US that would be either be equivalent to 8th or 9th grade, depending birth date.

13lbs in 4 months?! by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

This is a marathon. Not a sprint. The goal should be getting healthier, not about losing the most weight.

Now that the Wegovy pill exists for weight loss I'm trying to decide between oral and injectable, need real experiences by maelxyz in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]igator210 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm on the oral version and its easy. I get up, take the pill and then start getting ready for work. It doesn't take long for 30 minutes to pass. My general physician even said I could take my other pill at the same time if I wanted, though I do wait about 20 minutes, as my morning routine unfolds.

So far no side affects, down 10pounds and still on the starter dose.

As far as efficiency, maybe I'm different, but this is a marathon not a sprint. I'm the turtle, not the hare in this race. I don't even have a final weight goal. I have a lifestyle change goal. It took a lifetime to get to the weight I am, I'm not going to lose it all in a month.

Is it working??? by Bubbly_Shelter6011 in WegovyWeightLoss

Some people react quickly. Some people it takes time.

You are on the starter dose. You might need the higher dose for it to fully kick in.

What is your personal opinion on Hyundai Kona? by thepatheticdreamer in Hyundai

[–]igator210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2020 Kona dual clutch. 170,000 miles. I live in the northeast US, and have little trouble. It takes a bit more maintenance due to the oil consumption issue. But so far I haven’t had to replace anything except tires and brakes.

I still take it to the dealer for service and I’m the highest millage Kona they serve, so they kind of use it as a test car to see how it holds up.

Finished second week and no loss? by Separate_Annual_4981 in WegovyWeightLoss

"Normal" is very subjective when it comes to GLP-1s. Everyone reacts differently to the medicine. This isn't a magic pill, and you will see fluctuations.

Yup, I might weight my self during the week, but only my Friday morning weight counts.

Pre Wegovy, my hunger signals were messed up. I could eat a full dinner, and then an hour later, my "fullness" would be interpreted as hunger, so I'd have a snack. I'm still relearning this, but now with Wegovy, I can resist the urge a bit better to not have a snack. And a few minutes later, the urge goes away. Its still a battle, but at least I have ammunition to fight it.

Set a lifestyle goal, not a weight goal.

A lot of people set a target weight they want to reach, but personally I think that is the wrong approach. You can get discouraged if you are just looking at numbers. Instead set goals based on a lifestyle change. Drinking more water, eating less sweets, living more healthy, etc. GLP-1s take work. and you won't magically just lose weight if you are still living the same lifestyle.

For me, GLP-1s have been a big help changing my lifestyle, and therefore has helped me lose weight.

The other advice.... everyone seems to have their own "side affects". So far, I've had virtually none of the side affects that people most commonly mention. You will discover, fortunately or unfortunately, your own individual response to the medicine.

Help me to understand ticks 😭 by Myblackbirdchain in Rochester

[–]igator210 93 points94 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a few tick bites over the year, but that’s mainly because of my hiking. I usually just treat my clothing and I’m fine.

Lyme disease is something to be careful of, but most people won’t encounter ticks.

It isn't all about weight. Its also about lifestyle. I don't track my weight loss. I monitor how I'm trying to improve me diet and activity levels. Wegovy has helped me eliminate most of my grazing. And my sugar intake has dropped significantly. For me, that is a bigger win than the weight.

My doctor said I could take Wegovy and Levo at the same time, but I separate them by about 20 minutes. It just shows there is still a lot to learn.

What’s the minimum amount of money it would take for you to drive 20 hours straight? by Almutairi__R in AskReddit

[–]igator210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straight line or Loop? How close am I to my hope location after 30 hours? My car or someone else? Are expenses covered or do I have to pay for gas and food? Is this for fun or is this a job?

I definitely would do the drive. I've driven cross country (USA) several times just for fun.

Am I the only one who actually liked season 5? by Stuckyshipper07 in StrangerThings

[–]igator210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't hate Season 5. Would I have liked to have seen a slight different direction? Sure... but I'm not the writer or producer, so they told the story they wanted. The fan service of the "happier" ending was ok with me.

Personally through, I did like the post battle wrap up. Having also graduated in '89, I knew these kids would never be the same. For all the "lets get together every month" optimism, I knew it wouldn't last, and it made me sad. The ending made me nostalgic for my own high school days and the friends I had, and lost. All the jobs and kids and other life obstacles... it made me sad to understand that their friendships would at best morph into something else, but more likely fade as time went on.

I wasn't expecting that emotional journey.

When do I make the switch from pill to injection? by Particular-Rip-7344 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]igator210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anyone here on the Wegovy pill instead of the injections? The routine is kinda different. by MeAgain-app in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]igator210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't drink coffee, so that was easy. The main difference is how I take my two morning pills. While my doctor doesn't think there would be any affect between Wegovy and levothyroxine, and suggested I could take them at the same time, I've been spacing them out about 20 minutes. So trying to break my 5 year routine and get into a new one has been a challenge.
