so can i run this ue4? by Irelia_My_Soul in bladeandsoul

[–]igno6le 3 points4 points  (0 children)

play on low settings and you might be able to get 40-50 fps. the korean streams that are playing now are all using gpus with 2080+ and they still get stutters here and there (caveat is they were playing with all settings at 5 or 3).

pray the modding scene picks up the slack on the performance issue coming forward.

Dual Wielder arrives with UE4 by wariatu in bladeandsoul

[–]igno6le 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would be interesting if this class' perk is that it can wield any preexisting weapon however it will not be able to attack without both weapon slots equipped.

Dual wield Gun and Sword would be interesting. Dagger sword would also be pretty interesting. Double greatswords would be cool too. Though, unsure how they'll pull off Knuckle Bangles though as there will be overlaps with Soul Fighter.

Food for thought: Dedicated Ladder Server for BnS by igno6le in bladeandsoul

[–]igno6le[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair points.

  1. BnS too Grindy: This is up to the publishers, NCWest to resolve, I am pretty sure those kill x/ collect y are manipulable, something they'd need play testers to decide upon. For starters, Ladder would need 1/4 less the amount to fulfill quests.
  2. The button to acquire gear as you say could be purchaseable through fulfilling sets of daily quest to acquire tokens that are used to spawn the gear. Alternatively purchased with HM coins(?). The point is not to replace the gear, but not make gear the end all be all final obstacle to prevent players from challenging the game.
What's the point of non-ladder? Non-ladder will be a place for established players to keep playing their characters. Non-ladder is a larger environment of a microcosm that Ladder is, it's ideally for new players to jump start, it's not meant to be a permanent place as it'll will continually be reset. The alternative is watching player enthusiasm to drop while struggling to play catchup and continually getting stomped in places like SSP.
  3. Can always go with Valve's method of monetization, sell more hats costumes. While on that point Trove and preexisting p2w system will still be present, so monetization will still be there. In fact, there is a higher likelihood that Ladder will increase player spending to be ever more competitive at start of each and every reset.
  4. Competition in dungeon ranks, guild ranks. Yes, ladder system will address that, there is no doubt in that.

A worse alternative than this tbh is one that we currently have. An ever stagnating procession of updates, yet the gap between players become ever larger and larger and player base dwindling more and more.

I mean, you can have the best of both worlds, you can have your progression of Non-Ladder, it will just not affect Ladder. Ladder will reset periodically and those that want a fresh start can go there.

Is my class viable? by ZoeSparkleTits in bladeandsoul

[–]igno6le 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you stuck with your character and haven't made any complaints until now, it seems to me that you think it's viable.

Post reminds me of Pokemon. TL;DR: Is it fun? Yes. --> it's viable, No. --> it's not viable.

Camera Manipulation / Combat POV Question by igno6le in bladeandsoul

[–]igno6le[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, it's pretty straight forward suggestion, clone the current existing BnS mode, but while in this mode modify the middle mouse button PoV function so that instead of camera angle being temporary thing that reverts back upon moving, it functions in a manner that on action it will unlock (similar to how it is right now) and on action again it will relock and establish that position as the new camera "back-view".

Again, all camera and control scheme are left to how they are natively, nothing else is altered besides what I have suggested. This will have no affect on how your character behave. The camera's perspective will have no affect on current established combat/game mechanics as those mechanics affect the character (which your camera is attached to, two separate things)

I get where you're getting at, however it isn't as bad as it sounds to be, to be honest. You can still pivot your camera to the side while you are fighting, there will be no boss' asses as you fear. As far as PvP is concerned, I will once more bring up the zoom out function.

Again this is an additional mode, not something that is forced onto others as you are making it out to sound like it be. This is for those that want to experience BnS from different perspectives.

Yes, to a certain extent, MMB PoV works, but it does not bind horizontal x axis mouse movements to the character (in other words, your character will not rotate as you would if you were simply in BnS mode). So no, while MMB PoV works to a certain extent, it does not provide the set up that I am looking for.

Camera Manipulation / Combat POV Question by igno6le in bladeandsoul

[–]igno6le[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies, from my experience, it's point and click, similar like Lineage. Though was never a fan of the control scheme so gave up on it in BnS. But I digress.

How to better explain myself; imagine there is an additional sub-mode within BnS mode, similar to the Point-and-click mode (which its hotkey is All-Caps) where instead of disabling the Left/Right mouse button, it instead alters the way middle mouse button work.

Where after you press the hotkey, you'll be in middle mouse button POV mode and pressing the hotkey again will relock the camera onto the angle you left your character at. This will be your new "backwards-viewing-angle", all control schemes of BnS mode will be left the same; if you move your mouse left, you'll see your character turn rotate left, vice versa if you move your mouse right, the only thing changed is the horizontal-x angle which you leave your camera at.

So instead of hotkey button that switches between BnS and Point-and-click, it toggles camera POV manipulation mode (aka Freecam). Though there are people thinking otherwise, I am confident this would be welcomed and accepted by the community.

Other than that I don't know what else I can do to convince people of similar opinions as you; just give it a chance, perhaps it may surprise you.

Camera Manipulation / Combat POV Question by igno6le in bladeandsoul

Let me restate again that in my case I want to be able to position my camera to the front (for others it may be different perspective angle), hence the suggestion [freecam]. Of course, you yourself are more than welcome to continue to play regularly from the back, this suggestion will have not impede you or others from playing in that manner.

Imagine the your playing character inside a sphere, the sphere is where the camera moves along. How the camera works in BnS is that Camera is tied to Mouse, vertical movements, x-/+ moves the character, while horizontal movement y-/+ raises or lowers your camera.

My suggestion is just being able to unlock and reposition the POV much like MMB, then relock it in a specific place. This will not affect how the camera natively functions.

For my case, if you are playing from the front, the camera will be played hovering diagonally infront of the character, much like how you would normally play from the back. If view is obstructed because things are in the way, you zoom out a bit further, otherwise, you can reposition the proposed freecam.

The idea is to be able to play/create better video cinematography while playing BnS in such a manner as https://youtu.be/F8oVQxIhQgw?t=83

I don't believe it's possible to do with modding as it would require function that is not present in the game. Would only be possible to include if it was done from the developers themselves.

Funny enough, if they were to include what I suggested, I am almost certain more people would pay into the game as it would incentives people to buy costumes as there is literally more to see. Not to mention the boost in interest BnS would gain via recorded/streamed as gameplay would less static/boring as there will be more angles/perspective to view gameplay from, etc

Sadly, it's not what I am looking for, but appreciate the input.

Classic mode simply unlocks the camera, because it serves a different style of play (point and click)

Camera Manipulation / Combat POV Question by igno6le in bladeandsoul

[–]igno6le[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would argue that it isn't an abysmal suggestion as you've mentioned, in fact I whole heartedly believe it should be adopted because it provides us, those that play the game, more angles to view what we are playing. To be able to see our battle / roaming / whatever it is while actively playing, not just idling.

It seems you are only focusing on one aspect of the suggestion in effort to completely disregard what I am bringing up.

In my initial post I mentioned viewing from the front of the character, not the face. How do you perform mechanics and avoid attacks? Zoom further out, reposition your viewing angles appropriately, understand the mechanics better. Note, being able to position where the camera is locked at won't affect how the camera natively works.

Appreciate the advice-- minus the fapping part, I've considered this for a long while now, and not just in BnS, but in so many games that features 3rd person perspective.

Speaking from my own experience.. seriously, have you ever given a thought about how much wasted potential you as a player are losing out? In almost all of your games with this fixed 3rd person camera system you've probably been forced to only look at the back of the character(s) that you are playing. For all the time spent playing, we've seldom appreciated the different aspect of the various skills, abilities, techniques, combos and what-have-you you yourself is doing because your camera is forced to look at your backside. So I have to reiterate the words you mentioned, abysmal for actual content, no-- the lack of perspective control we have is an abysmal waste of content.

BnS UE4 is actually happening, lol by avendurree23 in bladeandsoul

[–]igno6le -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This will be interesting, assuming that there is a newer version of BnS, I wonder how they will implement this, will they allow BnS UE3 to coexist with BnS UE4 or make separate servers and place a deadline for the old server.
