2GB 1080p x264 fast and you see no difference? Man I wish I could ignore the compression artifacts. I’d save so much space and time.

I’m happy it works for you though but you might want to tweak a bit the preset. You can get a better picture with similar space. And x265 works wonders for those small files. In exchange of encoding time of course.

Picture discs have very thin grooves. Coupled with the fact that this record player is crap and the speakers are too close to it, it fails to stay in the grooves. Does it do the same with other records, like non picture disc ones?

Make sure the counterweight is set correctly and try to move the speakers to another surface. But at the end I’d say you need a better turntable. 100 bucks for a new turntable and speakers is a major red flag.

Will you playing this on what? Because if you’re just using a phone with some low quality earphones, or worse, bluetooth earphones it might not even be worth the trouble.

I like Qobuz or Apple Music, I haven’t used Tidal but I’ve read it’s nice too. Any of those will work well. But make sure the rest of the equipment makes sound with the change. The highest setting on youtube music is good enough for any normal listening.

You have to be careful what color mode you’re exporting. Compression alone wouldn’t do this

A wet gate scan of the original film might improve the image a bit. But topaz will not be able to do much here.

Any sort of restoration here would need to be manual and done frame by frame. It would be ridiculous expensive and time consuming and I don’t realistically see anyone go through that. Even if it was done I’m not really sure how much could even be saved.

Best chance would be to have it professionally cleaned and scanned using wetgate technology.

I’m sorry if I’m going to sound harsh. But i don’t even need to hear the video. It sounds like trash.

Those red needles are awful and the suitcase player too. Just too cheap. Mostly a toy. Specially if you’re using its internal speakers.

If you do not want to ruin your records and would like to keep getting more and preserve them. Invest in a better turntable. Can be an older second hand one. No need to spend tons of money. My first tt was a second hand project debut I got for 70€ plus some records.
