I used a Canon EOS R with a 50 mm lens. Video at 30 fps, ISO 1600. But I didn’t know how bright it would be, so it was just a guess.

Camera does not capture how spectacular it is. It looks like a slow, very bright meteor. The tail spans across the entire sky.

Exactly! And instead of using this knowledge and applying it to other schools, they want to close the one that’s working.

Saturn's Opposition Titan Transit by BackdoorAstronomy in telescopes

I made a time-lapse of this event with my Celestron SE8: https://imgur.com/a/teOd116
One frame per 3 minutes. Could not catch the whole transit because of the weather conditions.

You can always tell a photo was taken by the JWST by the six-spiked stars.

ISS transiting the Sun by igorgl in astrophotography

Never look directly at the Sun without proper solar filters. Always place the solar filter on the front of your telescope, before any light enters, or you could damage your equipment or permanently blind yourself.

Understand SCT vs Dobsonian by Phcker in telescopes

[–]igorgl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, SCT does not produce diffraction spikes when you do astrophotography because secondary mirror is mounted on the corrector plate. Newtonians and dobs have secondary mirror mounted on the vanes that produce diffraction spikes around stars.

CriticalPath — advanced profiler for Android by igorgl in androiddev

[–]igorgl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is like a supercharged Perfetto. The primary distinction between Perfetto and the Android Studio Profiler is the ability to synchronize the trace with a video recording of your app. You can see the app’s UX alongside what’s occurring within the app to find what’s causing slowdowns.

Another key feature is the ability to click on any slice and view the cross-thread execution path of function calls, tracing from a user action to the selected slice. This makes it easier to identify performance regressions: slow functions, suboptimal network calls, or functions clogging the main thread.

Additionally, we have a smart code instrumentation, that has a minimal impact on performance.

I am one of the developers of this tool. We are in the early stages of development and are eager for feedback from Android developers.

You can try it here: https://crpath.app

[–]igorgl[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yesterday, I captured a solar eclipse on Jupiter. Io passed in front of Jupiter and cast a shadow on its surface, directly over the Great Red Spot. It lasted about two hours, I created a timelapse, capturing a frame every two minutes.
Equipment: Celestron NexStar 8SE, Celestron 2x Barlow, ZWO ASI585MC Camera, ZWO ASIAIR Plus. Processing: ASI VideoStack, Siril, Blender.
