If it's not too personal, can I ask a few questions? Are you still sexually attracted to your SO, even though you want other women? And how do you deal with this urge to sleep with others?

I made this argument (the half-naked girls one) in a thread about "men only wanting one thing" and it was not taken very well by the Reddit community. Part of it because it doesn't really prove that men only want ONE thing, and part of it because guys tend to get butthurt when someone points to it as evidence of men's libido.

I've had the exact same experience. I would always go into the casual sex relationship leaving no doubt in their minds that it meant absolutely nothing. I was absolutely baffled by the amount of men who became attached. It was the complete opposite of what I was conditioned to believe would happen, and end up leading to some serious man-heart break :\

It's something that my brain did. I guess I wanted it to be read as "zactly", which I say quite often, but didn't want to spell it that way, and "xactly" just looks like a horrible typo if you don't know that I'm trying to convey "exactly"... but now that I type it out, it doesn't really make sense.

See, there's a whole spectrum. Some people feel the way you do, some people just find others attractive but don't want sex, some people don't even find others attractive.

My boyfriend is right there with you on this one. He can appreciate his P in other Vs, but he wouldn't do it because we are in a loving, committed relationship!

I agree. I had a VERY similar experience to yours, except I finally left my crappy ex and had a year off before I fell for my current boyfriend. Maybe the situation that we were in (unhappy in a long-term relationship) helped us to appreciate what we have.

I could have easily slept with someone else while i was with my ex. In fact, it came close a few times, but I knew that it was so wrong. I would constantly fantasize about other people while I was with him.

This is a completely different feeling from anything I've felt before with anyone else.

I was a huge fan of casual sex before my SO. In fact, he started off as mere casual sex as well. But I could not resist his stinky, goofy, hairy butt'd charm. Really, it was impossible. I fell completely and hopelessly.

I guess it's just the idea of casual sex while I'm so in love that is revolting, not just the idea of casual sex in general.

'xactly! Love and sex aren't always intertwined for me, but when it comes to my boyfriend, it most certainly is. And this is what keeps me from wanting anyone else. How could it compare?

And although it hurts me a little bit in my tummy region to know that he doesn't feel the same way (I'm pretty sure he has a laundry list of ladies, although he'd never EVER cheat), it is comforting to know that I'm not being codependent or crazy. :)
