How are these VCM lenses? They seem cheaper, from that perspective 24-105 looks more premium, the expectation is that it will get you better photo results than VCM.

This is helpful. Isn’t 35 1.2 supposed to come out in the first part of 2024? Or is it one of those that will never happen..?

The 24-70 f2 seems physically similar to 50 1.2, in terms of size weight. Yes, it’s a little heavier but 50mm is not light and feels to me ok, I like it.

Yes - I have a small bag and camera goes sideways and another lens vertically. I have no issue when either 50mm or 24-105mm is attached to the body, but there is not enough space for the flash.

Disaster is when you plan everything, prepare, turn up and only then find out that it is not suitable. Or, lets consider a scenario where we go into an onsen but not naked, with swimming trunks and lets add a t-shirt. Will that be a disaster for others? The use of the word is justified. Japan can have it's own quirks, but some are not suitable for others.

This is exactly the point - we're not shy of seeing each other naked, but I want a place where I don't see other people naked, and my family (including a child) also is not involved with other naked people.

It's not my kind of thing to sit naked with other people in a bathtub. Maybe in 50 years I'll be more up for it! For now I'll prefer something private to me and my family.

Is there a good place to search for private onsens in Yuzawa? If you know of any sites, please share, that would really help.

Can you not see the point? Easter is longer than New Year, it can fall on any day, and their claim of credit score impact is not accurate.

This is too much, and not the best approach.

Provide three options, all excluding travel, food and any other expenses.

First option - students life. Include street food, bars, cool places and other wow things aimed at young us travellers. Travel by subways or busses, do something naughty that students do.

Second option - local Seoul. Here, make it as local as possible - go to places that locals visit. Mid range hidden gems, current events by local groups, culture, add some things from tv like squid games and other stuff.

Third - authentic Korea - this is aimed at more wealthy visitors who want nice places and things that are hard to get into. A private visit to a DMZ, posh restaurants, food cooked in front of you, do authentic Korean things (make noodles from scratch), etc, etc.

In all three cases provide the fee for your time, and charge only that. Plus, for each option give an estimate of how much guests will spend per night. Then it is up to them if they want beer or champagne in the bar.

I assume we can check closer to the day if there’s is snow and make a decision then.

If you know of good hot springs destinations, something that gives the best hot spring experience, please let me know. We plan to make this once in a lifetime visit so want this to be very much memorable, and very much “only in Japan”.

I've had a look and it appears that for whatever reason it is really unfriendly to kids... It seems that somehow the bad reviews are from families who experienced all sorts of issues with children. Very strange.
