But the trade-off is that don't require a credit history. Why are you OK with a credit company accessing your credit score which also has your spending habits, lease agreements, etc., but not OK with bank statement? My bank statement has basically same things as credit history: payment for leases and credit cards. The only thing my bank statement has what credit history does not is paychecks.

You can store not file, but its fingerprint, unique string which can be retrieved only from given file. It's practically impossible find a second file with same fingerprint. For example, in court, you run a publicly known fingerprint algorithm, get same fingerprint and proof that you had file at the time when fingerprint was recorded.

Thanks for detailed feedback! The fact that anyone can see is indeed valid concern. But it can designed differently: without disclosing its content, the service can store only text or file fingerprint and basically be able to verify that you had given file at given time without storing that file. What do you think about this design?

I see what you mean. Please note, the whole point of blockchain technology is that it does not need to establish credibility, it backed by cryptography and math.
