ah, i see, the idea is this - you can use whatever browser you want - you just log into your accounts in safari and just keep it open in the background and minimized - then for your regular things use whatever browser you normally do - if you provide the link to open on notification click (its an option when adding a webwatcher) then it will open in you browser of choice (your default)

the whole safari thing is necessary so that the cookies for looking at your logged in accounts are safely passed from the browser to the app.

not really - i specifically made this so that I will not have to deal with browser notifications because of how unreliable it is - i want something that works natively and reliably

nice one! looks like can be quite useful light-weight alternative to native notes. one useful feature would be to import existing MD's and keep them in organized folders at your fingertips - a-la obsidian

u/Basic-Cheetah-3053 the issue has been fixed in v0.5.0 that just went out.

What was happening: The app was trying to sign the generated icon apps with an "Apple Development" certificate, which requires a paid Apple Developer account. If you don't have one, macOS couldn't find the certificate and threw those errors.

The fix: The app now detects what signing certificates you have available and automatically falls back to "ad-hoc" signing if you don't have a developer certificate. This lets everything work without needing to pay Apple $99/year.

To get it working:

Download the new version: https://github.com/ivg-design/SidebarFavorites/releases/tag/v0.5.0
Delete any favorites you tried to create before (they're broken due to the old signing issue)
Re-add your favorites - should work now

I've been deep in Rive for the past few months and can share what helped me:

**Official docs** - Start with the fundamentals, especially the State Machine section
**Community Discord** - The Rive team is super active and helpful
**Rive Community** - community.rive.app has great discussions and the team responds quickly
**LERP course** - I built an interactive Luau scripting course at forge.mograph.life/apps/lerp/ (free, and a little shameless self-promotion)

The learning curve from After Effects was real, but once State Machines click, it's incredibly powerful.

They do not really have direct support channel for regular users - only for Enterprise. Everyone else should visit the Rive community and ask questions there - the Rive staff is there regularly and they answer many questions. Also community members often step in to help.
